  • I am still baffled why you call it a "ladies board"?
It was posted in the "Marriage, Families" section, which isn't specific to any gender as far as I am aware.

Are you?? What percentage of the posters on here are female, do you think

Posing a question here, as I am young, and not entitled to any opinions on the subject matter at all - but could it be because the concept of what 'marriage' is has changed.

Today, people marry for 'love' (something which is hormonally induced, and we all know hormones change) whereas traditionally marriage was a business-like contract to cement the bonds between two families - therefore people entered it not expecting to be deliriously happy. Perhaps today people assume that wedded life will be utter bliss - and then leave when it isn't.

As a side note, I'm getting married in September. Yes, I am in love with the man I am marrying - but I'm aware enough of myself to know that this might not always be the case, it hasn't always been the case (I've known him for a while, and spent quite a few years not 'in love' with him, although have always loved him dearly in other ways) - but I know there will be days when I want to wring his neck, there are already days where that happens, that doesn't mean I don't want to spend the rest of my life with him. Perhaps there will be months or years when I want to wring his neck - but I realised some time ago, that I want him to be a part of my life forever, love or not, hence why we're getting married.
Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A
