I don't think anyone's got out of bed the wrong side, thrown their toys out of the pram or whatever else has been mentioned. A fairly innocent comment was made by FBaby, no harm was meant by it I'm sure.

Tropez, you say you're doing creative writing classes? I guess that makes sense judging by your writing style. I find your posts/threads fairly entertaining, so don't stop on account of comments made by strangers on the internet who you don't know from Adam. I will just say one thing though, I can sort of see where FBaby is coming from, but that's probably because I'm not really a fan of creative writing, why say 10 words when one or two will do? But then again, I guess it then wouldn't be creative writing?!

I know that's just your way of expressing yourself and the majority of people seem to like it (you've got 88 thanks for your first post!), but to some, it might seem abit drama queenish making them wonder how much of the post is actually real?

But then, no one has to read three pages if they don't like the style. All they have to do is move on to a different thread.
    . . .I did not speak out

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me..

I suggest a cardboard cut-out of two (or more!) persons very clearly engaging in sinful activities, that you could strategically place behind see-through curtains at your living room window. Even if the bothersome family can't understand the word no, such a sight may make them think twice about ringing your doorbell when all they were expecting was a roast dinner and a glass of sherry.

There's a business plan in the making here!

But if you feel that I constantly do nought but moan about others then fair enough, I shall cease posting such threads, though I will still make such comments to my family should they ever show up at my door unannounced again. ;)

Ha ha, don't stop posting for my behalf, clearly posters here love it :) I was just wondering why you seem to take pleasure in putting down your family, but I accept that your posts here might not be a full reflection of how you feel about them. I assume if you told them what you wrote here about them, they probably would not be wanting to come and stay with you anyway.

But surely they got the message now and won't expect you to open your door to them any longer if they show up unannounced?

Perhaps before they went off to the hotel I should have mentioned my mum's gone off to the Lake District for the weekend with a friend of hers?

    Must have slipped my mind.

    I think I love you a little bit :T:rotfl:
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I've typed out a response to this several times and deleted it. I can't answer that question without taking this thread down a very dark path and especially given people are now openly doubt the authenticity of what I say, I think it's best I drop it.

Like others have said, I don't wish you 'hell' from your family. At the same time your writing is thoroughly entertaining and can really appreciate the cathartic nature of your original post.

Every family has its dark side, what did Tolstoy write? every happy family is alike but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way!

But it's not the whole family - Mrs Tropez sounds nice and didn't that visit from Mrs Tropez's friends with children work out great in the end?

Who is doubting the authenticity? I'm the only one providing not so positive feedback and I don't doubt you are telling the truth about what you write. The reference to taking pleasure was when you wrote about the fact that your mum wasn't even around this weekend but I've gathered now it is your writing rather then thinking it really was funny.
