Dear Tropez,
I am new to this thread, and it's the first of yours I have read.
I really enjoyed reading all about your GRs (Ghastly Relatives).
For three reasons:
Firstly, because it was funny!
Secondly, because it was a cracking piece of prose. You don't aspire to be a writer - you ARE a writer!
Thirdly, because you've done me a power of good. I have the misfortune to have a pile of GRs myself. This results in either the feeling that you have slipped into a parallel universe, (that's the second time I've said that in this forum - hope it's not construed to be spam!), and/or you can feel abnormal in a normal world. So, although I wouldn't wish GRs on anybody, the fact that you've shared yours lets me know that it's a problem I share with others, which is comforting.
In addition, I know from personal experience that with GRs of enormous ghastliness, the issues cannot be resolved, because the GRs listen but do not hear, and take the view that the problem is either your problem, not theirs, or all in your mind; they are right and you are wrong, end of story. All you can do is, as soon as is feasible, lock the door and throw away the key.
I am looking forward to reading your other threads!
I hope you have a very enjoyable and restful holiday. Perhaps you could write about it on a new thread!(I just lurve spiders!)

Keep the family posts coming Tropez, they are funny and therapeutic for those who have similar family members in their lives.
Ignore the bitter plums, no point getting close to them, they leave a nasty and bitter taste in your mouth.
I hope you have a lovely peaceful and restful weekend, but my funny bone wants you to have an unexpected family guest to inspire some more of your witty prose.0
