I like your idea of saving because the rate would be better than if you paid off your mortgage. I want to get my mortgage below the 200k mark and then I'll save in offset and invest. I really should do that now because my rate is so low but for my sanity I need to break the 200k barrier first!

Set yourself up a spreadsheet to offset your savings. You'll get to the 200k barrier quicker that way :T. Compromise - open as many regular savers & high paying current accounts as you can. When the regular savers mature then use the whole amount to overpay and open another issue of the regular saver :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • I am shattered after a day of toil. Spent today having a spring clean and have scrubbed, scraped, soaked, wiped, and peeled dirt away from all those hard to reach places. Also went through a load of old boxes that I honestly think have not been opened since I moved in, and probably have travelled with me through several house shares. The refuse/recycling collectors certainly will get a surprise come bin day. :rotfl:

I cant believe how nice the place looks without all the clutter.

Hopefully this is the renewed enthusiasm I need to crack on with the redecorating project that has stalled the past few months.

A good declutter and spring clean is always good ;)

Good luck with redecorating - think about the end result to give you motivation :T

  • Morning friends,

Been a while since my last update, we even have a new government since I posted on here :o

Not had much MFW activity to report and am recovering from Fridays night out, where I spent way more than I should.

No more hedonism till payday so I can let my body and bank balance get back on an even keel.

Nice to see you posting again MC. Hope you had a fantastic time on Friday night and that you've now fully recovered - don't worry about overspending, we all need a little treat every now and again. ;)

It won't be long before you break through the £90k mark to be in the 80's. Every little milestone make for a good journey.

All good news with the daily interest dropping again :T
