Hi all,

Anyone going via the MSE link and using the code should get the £120 Amazon voucher after three months. If after that time you haven't received your voucher, let us know and we'll try to help.

Thanks!
Thanks. It's reassuring to see someone on MSE is aware of our concerns. Though still not clear exactly how we get in touch.

I can say my EE service is currently satisfactory, and I will hold my peace about the absent voucher until the three months is up.

If you want chase your gift certificate the relevant email address given to me by EE is: eevouchers@affiliatewindow.com

I signed up in mid April; still not got the gift cert, so chased it today.

As for the rest of it. The original EE sign-up went through first time, but was very glitchy and confusingly worded. EE kept me informed of my order progress by emails, and were helpful whenever I phoned them. EE are let down by their admin. I've not been able to view my account for weeks, due to the account sign-up not working properly. Now corrected but it's taken them 3 weeks to sort it out.

I had Sky broadband previously, with good speeds but drop-outs from time to time. EE is considerably faster, and not one drop-out in 3 months.

Will I continue with them after the 12 month contract. No, but not for any really bad reasons; they're just too inefficient, with a buggy website.

I have transferred and no probs so far. Only there is nothing on my bill. Should be £132 + £7.50 but still.

Had to wait in quite a while for my router as they don't deliver via UKmail but via hermes.....

When I had initial problems a nice lady gave me the 0800 number for cancellations so I don't even bother phoning the 0844 I just phone that.

Hoping I get my bill soon

I signed up for the £132 upfront /£9.95 reduced to £2.50 a month Broadband/ Amazon voucher deal.

All went very smoothly until I logged on to my EE account to check the first bill. £132 line rental, fine. £25.70 a month for the Broadband???

Called EE and spoke to two people who both said there was no record of me signing up for the £2.50 deal. Which is strange because I had an email from them the day I signed up detailing that very package. Zara agreed to amend my account but said nothing could be done about the first bill so would refund the difference on the next bill.

Such a simple deal yet they make things so complicated. Waiting to see what happens on my second bill.

My experience seems almost identical to yours, apart from wanting to pay the line rental monthly for £15.75, + £2.50 p.m. for broadband (discount for 12 months on a 12 month contract). I applied via the MSE email link for the £120 Amazon voucher, which after filling in the details redirected me to the EE site. I applied 2 days before the offer was due to end.

Broadband changeover went smoothly on 03/07, and have been informed landline will transfer to EE on 21st...... ok so far.
I happened to look on my billing page on website which also stated a monthly price of £25.70 - this figure is for broadband, line rental & weekend calls.

Sent an email to EE asking them to check & rectify the mistake. The reply stated that this price was correct & advised me to contact customer services to discuss my package..... rang their 0844 customer services & after a 20 minute conversation it was agreed that my contract would be changed to reflect the original discounted offer, in fact its slightly better prices were quoted: £2pm broadband + £15.40 line rental = £17.40 per month for 12 months on a 12 month contract

I was assured that this would not affect the Amazon voucher offer...... only time will tell.

About 2 1/2 years ago I changed from BT to PlusNet, simply on price - the changeover itself was a nightmare of broadband & landline disconnections, reconnections, no service, reconnection which took over eight weeks to resolve, with each company blaming each other and Openreach for the repeated failures and mistakes. (technically both BT & PN were fault free, & PN customer services were especially good)

I hope this lousy admin / new account discounts problem is not a sign of things to come.

I would suggest anyone changing Broadband/Landline suppliers double checks their online account & emails, takes screen grabs of all web based application & order pages (as I did) and records the phone calls with call centres (for training & quality purposes only of course!) just for good measure!! :(

I'm having similar probs....

I got my first bill - £147 including the saver line rental and it should be more like £140..

They blamed MSE - I can't afford to phone the 0844 number.....I am not a happy bunny

Please someone from EE rectify this. it's not a good deal if I'm paying £15 after line rental per month and I feel I have been fleeced

I followed the MSE link and the switch sent smoothly on Monday. Today I have realised that we have a completely different phone number! I only found out by accident as my m-in-law called me on my mobile and said she had been trying the house number for ages.

I spent all morning on the phone to SKY and EE who were blaming each other for the !!!! up. The EE lady said that if I did it online then you automatically get a new number whereas in the shop or over the phone you get the option to keep your old one, which I thought was a load of rubbish otherwise this forum would be full of people warning us not to get caught out. After tons of calls and getting really irate it turns out we should get our old number back within 48 hours which is not ideal but originally I was told it would take 10 working days.

Have not had a bill yet so am awaiting the same problem as mentioned above as my father in law signed up to the pay a year in advance and still got billed monthly. If the Amazon voucher doesn't turn up after this I don't think I'll have the energy to switch again, just like they want, the swines.

My number was also changed on transferring from Sky to EE. I noticed when the order confirmation came through that the number was different but when I immediately contacted EE they told me I should get my old number back when the switch went through.
On contacting EE after the switch, they told me it would take 14 working days before they could ask Sky to release my old number. I phoned OFCOM for advice and they said if my old number was not retained during the switch, it would be because EE had failed to ask Sky at the outset for this to be done. EE have now admitted there was a mistake on their part. However, they are adamant that the old number is now frozen for 14 working days and I have to contact them again after that time to see if they can get it back from Sky.
It's all very annoying. 14 working days is nearly 3 weeks, so I will have to give all my contacts the new number and then notify them all again if I get the original number back. In the meantime, anybody using the old number will not be able get through to me.
It is utterly ridiculous that EE appear to be so cavalier about preserving the customer's number. I really wish I had not made this switch and I still don't know if the promised Amazon voucher will be forthcoming.

That's interesting. I guessed they were going to change my number from the paperwork they sent, so decided to cancel the switch under the cooling off period (see above). When I phoned up to do so, the guy charged with making me change my mind gave me a categorical assurance (which I didn't believe) that I'd get my old number back within 24 hours of the switch. So it seems EE are prepared to lie outright to about this to get people into the contract…

I have same prob as Dauphin etc. Realised two silent days after the switch on Mon 7 when I tried to call home that my original number is not working. Eventually spoke to Brummie accented (descriptive, not prejorative) EE rep in "provisioning dept" who said that my 23 year old number had been "returned to wholesaler" and could not be returned for 14 days due to an "OFCOM rule". No apology, no acknowledgement of error.

I will write more about this later, however I'm asking for forum help now. My elderly Mum is hospital and loads of people need to get in touch but can't.

How can I get the original number reinstated straight away? I think it's now held by BT Open Reach.

Does anyone have contacts either in EE or BT Open Reach - pref customer services whom I can call to get this fixed today?

Thanks in advance. TimCee

One possible option is to talk to your old provider: if they still have the number on their books they might be able to switch you back and reinstate it. Then you'd have to fight out with EE whether you owe them an early termination fee: my feeling is you'd have a strong case that the contract was mis-sold (since you weren't told about the number change) but obviously you might not win this argument so it is risk only to be taken if you can afford to lose the early termination fee....
