I wanted to move to orange because of the special price for existing customers and started the process last September after my contract with Tesco ended.
I was very specific that I wanted my existing number ported. After several weeks they cancelled the order because they said Tesco wouldn't give them the number.
Contact Tesco who say "not true" and call EE back and they start it all again with the same result. Again Tesco say we are not keeping you from moving your number.
Fast forward to December when I tried again through topcashback and I was told I needed a new phone line. Already got a BT line and it is live with Tesco. Given a date for a BT engineer to call out, this never happened.
Call them again in February, same story re line needed, engineer called mid March and fitted new junction box, phone not working because.... they changed my number! Been trying to get my number back ever since, they keep saying they cant get a response from Tesco
Last week got a letter from EE dated 2/5/24 saying that I was moving provider on 28/4/24, news to me! I tried to call them and my phone is now not working. Used my mobile and was told that they would call me the next day, that was last Saturday.

Broadband still working, just the phone line thats dead.

    Topcashback never paid either.

Meantime Tesco have written to me to say my service is being suspended as I havent paid Aprils bill.

I really dont know what to do next, any suggestions are welcome!
Money is only of any use if you can spend it!

I see the date has passed for the Amazon voucher deal. I am still waiting for my cabinet to be upgraded to Fibre (any minute now - the cabinet is in place!!) before I switch to EE.
Do you think the old offer will extend, or will there be a new code??

There's some pretty interesting feeback on EE customer service here:
    http://www.broadband.co.uk/broadband/providers/ee/reviews/page:all/

Does anyone on here have any recent experience of migrating to them?

I'm so glad I read these reviews - I suggest more of you do the same.

Hi, I managed to apply for the MSE offer of £120 Amazon vouchers before the end date of May 9th. But the customer service I have received from EE has been appalling to date and we haven't even started with them! It seems they are using MSE as a cover to make out they are better than they actually are. We will not be switching over to them now, but remaining with Virgin, our current provider - I'll tell you why at the end of this post.

It is clear the various people I have spoken to at EE for hours so far, don't put any information on their computer system, so none of them knew what we had been offered or what we wanted. I just found out today that, two weeks before we are due to go 'live' that we might not be able to keep our current telephone number - we've had that for 30 years and with 4 different providers.

I only found this out by accident as I phoned them because they had sent the wrong router - we ordered fibre and they sent the standard router. This one customer service woman, Dee was great and thorough - all the others to date have just passed me on to someone else, often to someone who then had to pass me onto another person. She was the first one to tell me that our new account order had a different telephone number attached to it! All the rest who had asked for our telephone number to locate our files and not mentioned this. She also put notes on the system about the charges we had been assured would be waived - none of the others had done so, despite me being assured about it twice before. She could not do more about the telephone number so had to pass me on. Then that person also passed me on.

I was told by that person to wait until we go live and then they would try and sort out. Considering the poor customer service we have had so far, I have no faith they will even try. One of the operatives casually told me, Virgin our current supplier usually don't release telephone numbers - but they didn't know as no one at EE had requested it, even though I put that in our application.

One good thing has come out this hassle though is that Virgin has offered us a much better deal to stay with them and over a shorter 12 month period, so, only by taking into account the £120 Amazon voucher we will now not be getting, we will only be a little worse off by sticking with Virgin, but we could gain this by switching after the end of the 12 month contract being offered- EE's monthly costs are higher and their contract is for 18 months. So haggle away with your current supplier - as everyone suggests!
    Best wishes Amer

I don't know if it's because I'm a brand new customer (not transferring), but so far (touchwood) everything has gone through fine; customer service, delivery of router, installation and the broadband itself. Not sure if this also makes a differenc but I am T-Mobile EE not Orange (which is where most of the complaints seems to be derived from).

Didn't do the MSE Amazon deal so I really hope Quidco goes through!
  • Whilst I would be the first to vent my frustration and complain where it is merited I'd like to do the opposite in this case.

I signed up and moved away from PlusNet in early May.

The sign up process was easy and I received the email about the amazon Voucher almost straight away.

The process was handled quickly and without any fuss. The call centre at EE (Orange) answered the phone promptly and helpfully.

I have had a few issues that required to be dealt with.

The broadband was turned off by PlusNet prior to me getting the new router. EE acknowledged their fault here and provided me (unprompted) with a free month rental £21.40 and the router arrived a day later.

The quality of the Broadband is not as good as it was with PlusNet and the streaming from the BBC Iplayer seems to stall occasionally, however in all other respects it is absolutely fine.

Just to let folks know it has not been a bad experience for everyone.

I'm a sucker for a hefty free voucher and as my Sky broadband subscription was coming up to 12 months I thought I'd risk this EE deal.

Aside from the original router being faulty (replacement recieved in 2 days) I am chuffed to bits with it all. Certainly quicker internet speeds than Sky and with better coverage in my property. I can only give this cheap as chips EE deal a big thumbs up.

I recently signed up for EE broadband, and followed the link via the MSE website as to qualify for the Amazon voucher. However i have not received an email as it seems some of you have in order to claim it. Can anyone tell me what the email instructed them to do or does anyone know who i should contact as i don't think the deal is on behalf of EE, it seems its a MSE thing. Thanks
