Quidco are offering £130 for the next few days, beats £120 Amazon voucher I think.0

Here's my experience so far.
Contacted EE telephone help and spoke to a polite, cheerful, helpful and very knowledgeable woman who sorted out my queries quickly.
Went to my local EE shop. Staff unhelpful and slightly bristly, although that was my fault; I interrupted their discussion about their previous evenings. They reluctantly broke off and sold me a sim card and a £10 top up.
Just now signed up for the deal via MSE link. Trouble free, not a hitch. At no stage did they try to charge me for a new line (I'm currently with Sky for bb/rental/phone).
To answer a couple of points by soloman2. The option to pay the year up front isn't offered until half way through the checkout procedure. As for EE slowing your speed, they make it perfectly clear in their T&Cs prior to sign up that they operate traffic shaping at busy periods. If you don't know, that means they restrict the speed of heavy users at peak times. How much they slow you down depends on your type of usage (especially p2p) and how congested the network is. I'm a heavy user but I can live with that at this price.
Update Just found out from EE that because I'm moving from Sky, I don't even need a MAC code, EE will take care of the whole switch in the next 10 days.0 -
Well, doesn't work for me. I followed the link in the MSE article, https://voucherwindow.com/293, entered the voucher code, then it asks for my name, email and postcode.
All this does is send me an email with the terms and conditions, no actual link to the offer, or instructions how to claim.
I'm not an EE customer, so I received a new sim in the post from EE, but it won't let me topup online or over the phone, saying that the topup limit has been exceeded for that sim!
So I guess I'll be renewing with TalkTalk.Labour are the chip on this country's shoulder. No positive vision, no aspiration, just toxic politics. Hope not hate.0 -
Well, I'm in exactly the same boat as Gazcon. Only difference is that I am already an EE (T-mobile) mobile phone customer.
But I couldn't get past the screen that sends me the e-mail about the voucher.
Here's what I thought might be a possible explanation. Maybe we have to go via the MSE link to that voucher page in order to secure the voucher. But, having done that, and got an e-mail confirmation in our sweaty paws, we then have to go through the normal EE channels to switch to them as a provider. (By the way, phoned EE for advice and the guy on the end of the phone said he couldn't help me! Wonder whether to switch after all...)
However, the Ts and Cs in the voucher e-mail say: "The £120 Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate is only available on an EE Home Broadband contract purchased through moneysavingexpert.com. It is not available for purchases made by telephone or post."
So now what do we do? HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO SIGN UP VIA MSE??0 -
There's some pretty interesting feeback on EE customer service here:
http://www.broadband.co.uk/broadband/providers/ee/reviews/page:all/
Does anyone on here have any recent experience of migrating to them?0 -
Apparently I'm in a non EE home broadband area. Except if I want to buy their more expensive packages.
Went with talk talk instead who're installing my line for free and offering better speeds. Fingers crossed they're alright!0 -
The deal is over i think0

When. Does this end? Says until the 16th but does that mean until 0:00 or 23:59 on the 16? I ordered a free sim it came but didn't work. It was faulty. Need to get a new one from a shop.0

Have just come off an on-screen 'chat' with an EE operative. You might find the content of interest:
You are now connected with 'Maddox'
Maddox: at 15:26:46
Hi there, my name is Maddox. Welcome to EE, the UK's biggest and fastest network! How can I help you with your order today?
Me: at 15:27:11
I am attempting to transfer my broadband to you under an arrangement negotiated by MoneySavingExpert.com but your web page keeps telling me I need a new phone line at £60! What's wrong with the one I've already got - and told you about?
Maddox: at 15:27:28
Hi
Maddox: at 15:27:52
I am glad to know that you are interested in EE home broadband.
Maddox: at 15:28:33
Well it might be the landline is not active or not a BT line, that's why they are charging
Me: at 15:29:19
The landline is certainly active and paid for through TalkTalk. It was originally a BT line. Why would I need another one?
Maddox: at 15:30:11
Well it is online deal and they are fixed and I am sorry to say
Maddox: at 15:30:16
We can't alter it
Me: at 15:31:47
I don't understand this. Are you saying that if I came to your site of my own volition, I would not have to have a new phone line, but bcause I am coming under an online deal, I have to pay an extra £60??
Maddox: at 15:32:41
Yes
Me: at 15:34:15
Fine! EE just lost another customer! What a farce.
Maddox: at 15:34:40
Thank you for chatting with us. Have a nice day!0 -
They also tried to sell me a line even though I have a BT phone line, I did just de-selected the option on signup.
As a sky customer I am cancelling the EE now as they have offered me free broadband. The EE online chat team are not very friendly or knowledgeable in my opinion eitherAudi - Vorsprung durch Technik0
