  • What was the actual words she used.

Can you not just say, well that's such and such you owe me for the ticket I purchased for you.
Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay

'Thank you for using the internet and getting the tickets, what we will do now is go halves on mine , me being the accompanying adult, so what I owe you is x for my son and x for mine, I will bring the money round on x day' or there abouts, said on the phone with me not really understanding properly or reacting quick enough to stop and say why? Or we had not agreed to this? Or how has this come about? Nothing came from me apart from a lack of understanding, rabbit caught in headlights, type of reaction,

Well with that said. i think i would have been the same as you -
totally gobsmacked - and far too nice to say - hey wait a minute, i don't remember discussing that.

I do think you have been duped slightly - as otherwise she should have said "can you order the tickets and I'll pay for my half and my sons on x if that's all right with you"

The thing is, she doing you a favour by going with the boys, is that correct? At anytime did you offer to pay for half her ticket?

She's doing you a big favour taking the boys & giving up her day so I think it's only fair you pay half her ticket.

No, I never offered to pay for half her ticket, I would never ask a parent for half my ticket, I would have paid for my son, the train, his lunch, spends, as was discussed, not half of an accompanying adult ticket no.

Many times for eg we go to theme parks, we go 2 for 1 or each pays, one will bring lunch or 1 will buy ice cream , or one brings sweets , the other the sausage rolls etc, the other the refillable drinks but never have I asked for half my entrance ticket? The gold posts have been moved, if we go out I expect to pay for me or me and OH and the kids pay as above or with some it's my turn this time your turn next, never has a parents ticket price been brought into question

No tickets left for the already booked day, sold out, OH is looking at going, maybe he will, he says if he has to pay someone else and never knew then it's for nothing and he might as well pay full price and get some fun for it:D
