Ovo Energy Switching Problems

Hmm, I've run into problems. Elec has been switched, gas hasn't. Gave readings for both, no idea what has gone wrong, but I certainly don't want to have two suppliers! On the phone to Ovo at the moment, trying to find out what went wrong.
EDIT: Apparently I have been switched but as my gas supply is provided via an Independent Gas Transporter it takes longer for them to (manually) update their records. So thanks to MSE's Cheap Energy Club for sending me an e-mail with erroneous information on it!0 -

Similar position here. I have officially 'gone live' with OVO on Apr 13th, however EDF haven't had my meter readings from them yet, so still waiting for my final bill to be generated and my credit returned! On an IGT too, so that's probably what the hold up is for. I wouldn't mind, but I gave final/initial meter readings to both suppliers at the same time. Cancelled my ddebit with EDF though as well in credit. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I have the opposite problem. Gas has switched to OVO but not electric, so this month I have paid twice for the electric DD0 -

I got exactly the same, if not worse: on ovo chart, my elec transfer is shown as complete, but gas still stuck to the first/top position. My transfer should complete two days ago based on ovo's schedule and I have given the readings for both.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -

I've just switched supplier and fully expect to pay the old supplier and new supplier this month for both gas and electric.
But that's not paying twice. Any money paid to the old supplier will either, at final billing stage, go towards what I owe them, or will be refunded, as the case may be.
People should be aware this may happen when you switch supplier. It's no big deal.0 -
Well the OVO website has now got me totally confused ...... initially it showed that I had given both meter readings for the switch from EDF on the 26th April (in response to an email received).....this morning its asking for a gas reading but says no need for an eleccy reading because I'm still switching!! Not sure whether to put the same gas meter reading or not ...think I'll leave it for now!:(0

I'm in the process of switching from EDF to Ovo. It has all gone very smoothly and they gave me a date of 19 May for them to take over. My account page on their website has shown the gradual progression with them asking to take over gas first and then electricity, and according to them EDF knew I was leaving by 30 April so hopefully they will honour their promise to maintain the old tariff until the day of the switch.
However, today I have just checked and Ovo now say the process is complete and they are supplying me - this has changed in the past day or so since I last looked. I have had no email about this and I cannot yet submit readings. Do others have experience of this - does the website tend to get ahead of events?0 -

Phoned Ovo last week to check what was happening and was told gas and electric can switch up to 6 weeks apart. Oddly several hours after I phoned them I got a final bill from my old supplier and ovo was showing both gas and elec. not sure if it's because I phoned them and it prompted some action or whether it was purely coincidental. Anyway, all sorted now0 -
Their new My OVO page is a bit confusing. My supply switched from EDF and came "live" on 15 Apr but there doesn't seem to be a record of my initial meter readings, in fact it says it's 6+ months since my last meter reading. Also, I've yet to receive a final bill from EDF.0

Your switch may be "live" but it looks like your opening meter readings have not been verified and accepted yet.
Once they are verified and accepted your opening readings will show up in your reading history. At that point I would also expect EDF to generate your final bill.0
