I am rather worried about my application. I applied last Wednesday 7th May and have to date not received any e-mail confirming my switch/application! One wonders if it has registered or not.
Very disappointing.I applied through Simply Switch! Maybe not so simple after all!
I called Ovo who know nothing about my application. Not ever had a problem in the past when switching.
You should certainly have had a confirmation email from Simply Switch by now; they are usually issued the same day.
(Presumably you got to the final Simply Switch application page that confirmed your application and that they were sending you an email as such?)
Probably best to contact Simply Switch and double check your application was received
Not so worried about Ovo, as the MSE article on the Cheap Energy Club says some suppliers deny knowing anything about an application to switch when processed by them too
When I switched, Ovo emailed me the first working day after Simply Switch had sent their confirmation email.
Perhaps worth checking your spam box for any dumped emails?0 -

I would either contact Simply Switch now or wait another week or so to see if you get a welcome letter through the post from Ovo, and then if not contact Simply Switch to establish whether they've put through the request with Ovo.

No confirmation e-mail which I was expecting. Called Simply Switch ut closed after 5pm so will try again tomorrow.

I did get all the way through the application process and no junk mail received though I will check again- good tip btw.0 -
I've switched supplier several times in the past and it's always gone smoothly, but my current switch from Scottish Power to Ovo is going badly wrong.
Switch date was 31/3. I gave meter readings to Ovo.
Gas has been switched, but not using the reading I gave.
Electricity has not yet been switched.
SP have taken 2 random payments from my bank account, without advising me of the amounts or dates. SP have not yet produced a final bill.
SP say Ovo have not sent them the meter readings.
Ovo blame some third party who are supposed to verify the meter readings and forward to SP.
Should I ask the bank to recall the 2 random payments under the DD guarantee scheme?0 -

First statement is supposed to be 4 to 6 weeks after switch, then I read on their website that monthly statements can be either 1st or 15th of month, but they will sent you an email a few days before reminding you to enter meter readings so that they can produce bill.0 -
Well all I have is praise for OVO.
Started off got a quote and made contact as the price (not the cheapest) was the one I wanted left the rest to them.
Had my welcome pack within a week, set up DD, gave my readings and whoosh done.
I think overall 9 days and happy happy.0 -
Well it's now over 7 weeks since my OVO account became live yet still no final bill from EDF despite the 4-6 weeks validation time quoted by OVO now long passed.
An extract from an online chat I had with EDF this evening confirms OVO are to blame for the delay.........
EDF agent: I can see that your electricity account is transferred over from us on 02.04.2014 but the gas account is still with us and the transfer date is not confirmed yet. Your new supplier applied to take over the gas account very late hence the supply is still with us for gas. It is in the initial stage of changing the supplier.
I will be back on the phone to OVO tomorrow to hear their excuses
That is not actual proof...just edf's version.
To be fair, ovo will also have a version, and which one is actually true is unknown.0 -

My gas switched from EDF to Ovo on 27/4, but still waiting for the electricity to complete, now 17 days later.
Have emailed Ovo but no response after 3 days. Less than impressed, given that until this point everything has gone smoothly.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
