YES! I'm definitely in. We go away on the 25th, so the timing is perfect. When better to start than today..like others confessing today I've eaten my eggs already in the run up to Easter! I have never really done a firm diet / exercise plan before apart from a build your running distance schedule, so I'm not too sure where to start.
Obviously I know the fat, sugar and carbs need to be cut, and the activity needs to go up, but I'm open to advice about how! I have a secret weapon - for my first week, I'll be on a residential course...with a gym and a pool on site, and no excuse not to use them in the evening, plus, if I remember the site, good meals with nice salads and fruit - all the expensive stuff I've been craving. 1 lb a week sounds good.
Currently I am dead on 13 stone  you'll have to tell me how to do the measurements! I am packing to leave the house now but will take a tape measure with me. Gulp.
Clippy - Yes we use that site both to stay places and to host people. I can understand your wariness completely - I was the same, but I have had nothing but good experiences when we have guests staying at the same time as we are here, and only one unsettling experience when we rented the house out entirely (that is a lot more tidying up though!!). I am really happy to tell you more and give you some tips that I wish I had known from the start if want to pm me - I can send you a referral link too if you like (may as well start with some credit for a trip of your own!). About the company - I can't fault them, they take a tiny percentage of the income, deal with all the financial stuff for you, and every transaction or interaction has been easy, and it gives you a lot of ways to verify who is coming to stay. No set up costs or tie in to provide a service over a certain timeframe, you are in total control about when you want to rent your space out, and can say yes or no to each booking based on what you can see about the person and how they interact with you before they come. We have made a lot of friends this way and in fact have two overseas trips planned to stay as guests of people who originally came to us through the site. Its been a good way of making the house earn money for us.0 -
I think we are a pretty formidable gang, and together we can do just about anything, by the way! virtual star jumps to all those who need them!! :j:j :hello::hello::T:j0

crazy lady I am roughly following The Skinny Rules which basically includes;
- drinking a large glass of water before every meal
- having calorie free drinks only
- eating plenty of protein
- not eating carbs after 2pm
- measuring everything (I calorie count too)
- no fast foods
- have one treat meal a week
I find it really easy to stick to, when I'm in the right mind set!
So far today I've had a toasted sandwich thin with butter and a piece of bacon, and a feta and salad bagel
So far a SFD but need to catch up with friends later so will almost certainly be a spendy day.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

hiya
I am up for the challenge i currently weigh 11 stone 3 and half pounds my ideal weight would be 9 and a half
Claiming an NSD as not spent any money and due at work soon so no chance of spending .
Today me an OH looked at how much debt we owed and what we have paid off and in June 2011 we owed £22,000 and as of today we owe £3500 so we were very chuffed at the amount we have cleared so has made me feel a bit more positive .
Got to go off to work will check in later
Have a good day all and happy easter0 -

Jumping onto the bandwagon... Weight 10 stone 7; ultimate goal 8 stone 13. Total measurements (round bust + waist over belly button + hips at widest point) = 106.25 inches; ultimate goal = 99".
Today is a dedicated sugar fest, after a run of just 9 sugar-free days. Then I aim to do 22 days til my bday, and then to the end of the quest.
My eating will be based on The Primal Blueprint lifestyle. Plenty of veg, protein, good fats, nuts and seeds, some coffee and fruit. And I don't plan to be hungry!
Are we 'checking in' with weight and stats weekly?

Well done luckystarr - that is a lot of money.
Today will be a SFD, have been busy at home. I did an Easter Egg hunt in our garden for the kids this morning and later I will be going for a bike ride before tea.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I would like to join the fitness challenge, but given my advanced age and current state of decrepitude (one step away from being shot and boiled down for glue), I will tailor my programme accordingly.
Have been thinking about walking and worked out that if I walk away from the town centre from my house the first, third and fifth bus stops have little benches, there are a couple of other benches and one at a bus stop on the far side of the road. The furthest point is about 15- 20 minutes from my house, so that is going to be my walking route and if at any time I am struggling I will sit and rest on the nearest bench. Done it this morning, started off walking into a stiff breeze, didn't sit down but stopped to talk to a man with 3 friendly dogs and then a woman a bit older than me (the wind was just hitting her). Going to try again later and hope I can do it 3 times a day.
Will also try to do 3 x 15 minutes housework/standing up jobs (ultimately mop the hall and kitchen before the end of the week - bugging me now) and 3 x sitting down (on a couch or chair - makes a change from the bed and my legs will be in different positions) jobs - not going to do too long as sitting seems to be most uncomfortable, have trouble putting my weight on the injured leg when I stand up.
I have a physio appointment on Wednesday so I am hoping they will give me exercises to help. I am going to ask about yoga/pilates - all about balance and alignment and if I use a band under my foot my hands will be doing some of the work of moving my leg into different positions. I want to get them to weigh me - was 14st 1lb but worried that i have put lbs on due to enforced idleness. If they don't weigh me I can go to the next town (big scales in their B**ts) and I have a health trainer appointment the week after so that will be a second check in. I prefer using exercises I know how to do as trying to learn new ones ends up with my glasses falling off or getting steamed up - at least I no longer have to contend with the cat coming to sit on my stomach when I lie on the floor.
Sensible diet based on bhf healthy plate/ diabetic diet - want to try getting back to at least one salad a day with ten raw ingredients. Lots of veg, small amounts of protein, already have wholemeal pasta, brown basmati rice and bread (seeded - oils in seeds are useful but only need small amounts). Haven't got any Easter eggs - reserve the right to buy myself one off the reduced pile later in the week. Bought myself a packet of ys 'chocolate biscuits' - they are like brown gingerbread men, no chocolate,- think bourbon biscuits with no cream filling.
Don't think you want my non-vital statistics - like the idea of adding all three together. Just remember I am adjacent (though nothing to do with them at all) to the town of Wigan where according to a recent Debnums survey the average bra size is 36F. To put this in context (newspapers cannot handle statistics), I explained to the person reading the paper (before they said it was a Debnums survey) that mainstream shops only cater for a limited range of sizes (I was C cup at 17 and MnS only did A andand as small specialist shops have mostly disappeared, only places like Debnums cater for anyone at the ends of the range (small or large). More choice in supermarkets etc these days - and a lot more big girls (maybe us outsiders are the small percentage of women actually wearing the right size bra).:rotfl:

Go mothernerd! That amount of exercise puts most of us to shame! I don't have a cat to lie on me - I have a 6 year old who likes to climb on, over, under as I stretch!
luckystarr- well done, that's an awesome reduction!
I've just done my first run of the year! 28 mins with just one stop at the turnaround point. Suspect I may have overreached myself a tad...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
