    Evening All,

Have just spent nearly 2 hours doing my O*ado shop! They do some lovely stuff, I could have spent hundreds. I've been thinking about going gluten free for a while as I have a few medical issues which are supposed to be helped by cutting out gluten (as well as dairy, sugar and red meat) but have always been put off by the lack of choice, but o*ado do loads of stuff, so have decided to do a shop with them once every few months on just free-from products. I will wait until I've used up everything I already have, but the choice they offer is much bigger than I've seen anywhere else. Decided to go for half freezer and half storecupboard so have got lots of fish and meat, as well as tinned pulses, free-from pastas and things like tomato puree. Did treat myself to a massive lump of stilton but i'll make a vat of soup with most of it. So am going to be really strict with the food budget for the next few months so I can order from them.

Otherwise a SFD today, out to see a mate this morning, then my auntie popped over this afternoon for a moan about my mum!

16/30 Meal plan and eat 3 times a day
    £0/£3 food bank
    Get all paperwork organised
All a/c I do for others up to date

13/30 Update my budget spreadsheet daily
    16/30 NO TV

Got a letter from Barnardos this morning, and the last lot of clothes I donated raised £106 plus the 25% gift aid, so I packed up the last of my suits and shirts and dropped them off today.

Exercise has gone out the window due to my cold settling on my chest :( so I def won't hit that target this month.

Have a lovely evening all xxx

  • SFD number 8 and exercise 12. Bank account looking nice and healthy as bursary got paid early due to bank holidays, so didnt have to reshuffle any money to avoid overdraft fines! Means all the money in the savings account for no-income summer is still there!

Had two enquiries about something I put on Gumtree, both said they could collect tonight and then neither responded to my emails any more, really annoys me as I deliberately didnt make plans for tonight so I could be in for them to come round.

    Evening all,

Another spend day today! Did an 8 mile walk with my sister and my two most energetic dogs but had to pay for car parking. As I had already spent, I did the food shopping for next week which will see us until payday (next Friday). The budget is completely blown, however we are within the contingency budget, so technically we have spent within our overall available funds (and this has included a new dog bed) :)

I currently have the DIY/decorating bug and I am trying to upcycle a few old photo frames. Tomorrow I am going to buy a pot of paint to do this, so another spend! I am also having drinks with friends but have offered to drive so I am hoping they will buy my soft drinks all evening :)

Hope you've all had a good day :)

Back from a few days away, which was lovely and relaxing. Not a single NSD though!

Nor today, as I had to go to aldee. Boy was it busy! I scooted round, as it wasn't a full shop I was doing. Got what I had on the list, and left. And I'm glad I went today, as I reckon tomorow will be even busier!

Dropped another bag off at the Sally Army, and have another one ready to go to them. Have even got dh to go through his clothes, which is a big step forward.

Gaps are slowly appearing in the freezer as dd gets through her gf loaves. Dh is happy to be able to put other stuff in there now!

Thanks for all your kind words - still a bit up and down at the moment. The weekly bus ticket has been well used. The space under the vestibule table has been emptied along with 3 large (very) boxes from the hall plus a number of bags gathered in the front room and bits that were lurking in odd corners. It feels as though I have achieved something - through could have made more effort with the housework (definitely 'escaping' some of the time but maybe a reaction to the confinement of the last few weeks (week 5 now:eek:).

However I do think the 'treats' have been mounting up (things keep falling into my basket) and I do need to put the brakes on, especially with my current (non) activity level. Only went into Arseda yesterday for own brand diet de-caff coke to save time on Friday (supposed to be a once a week 'treat') and spent over £10 on non-essentials. Not a lot of wriggle room in my budget, so need to start tightening up.

Also feel that I may be avoiding certain tasks. Lots of things I can't do, painkillers keep making me sleep, sitting on a chair for any length of time is difficult but there are lots of things I can do and perhaps I am choosing to do some of them and avoiding others.

Went to get more library books today (been mostly out from 10.30 am to 10.30pm with only a couple of stops back home - have sat down to rest frequently). Picked a couple of novels from the 'new book' display (get so annoyed when I get 3 pages in and find I have read it before - used to be able to remember everything I had ever read) and then wandered to the self help section. Mind gym jumped out (recommended by someone on the diaries thread) then I sat on a bench and picked a few others out. Decided it was starting to look a bit desperate so put one back in favour of one by Janet Street Porter to lighten the mood.

Going to mum's tomorrow (getting up early to prepare a buffet -changed it from the veg curry she had put me down for). Going to plan tonight and throw stuff together tomorrow then spend the weekend relaxing, reading and making small household improvements (in 15 minute chunks). DS3's gf arrives on Monday (his birthday week -DS2's as well).

Hoping the only raindrops that fall on you this weekend are drops of inspiration and exhilaration.

    Petrol: £35.28/£100

Yesterday didn't end up being a SFD after all because I ended up buying a new set of headphones while I was in town after realising that I was getting practically no sound from my current ones in my right ear :o The new set were £14.95, which isn't too expensive and the brand is known for being good. I also got them from John Lewis so they come with a two year guarantee, which for headphones could prove useful!

So, I'll move the SFD to today, staying at 11/15 and the only things we'll need to buy this weekend will be cat food, milk, bread and fresh fruit. I'm going to come in under budget by hook or by crook :D

    morning all

not posted for a few days. since i have fallen off the sugar wagon i have bought some sugary snacks everyday  not happy at all as not good for sfd or waist :( need to rein it back in. has not helped that i had a bad cold as couldnt exercise but seems a bit better now so will do body pump tonight :A

todays plans are to do my big monthly shops (aldi and tesco). will get food bank stuff at tesco and put in the basket along with all the toiletries i bought last month as didnt get a chance to go to tesco and drop them off.

also got one mystery shop to do on the way. then once back in the house i am going to sand down the back windows and door ready for painting tomorrow.

also need to ring two electricans to get them to come round and give me a quote for a few jobs. unfortunately the idiotic previous owner converted the bedroom into an en suite and didnt bother to remove the power points or switch light fitting so i really need to get those moved which will increase the cost  not sure how much that will be :(

Yesterday ended up being a spend day. I had promised the kids we would go to the Paint a Pot Cafe this holiday and do some new cereal bowls, I did a big clean of their bedrooms first with their help and we went there in the afternoon so £19 spent, these are very expensive bowls but it is the only money spent on them so far this Easter holiday apart from a McFlurry.

I went out on my bike last night and all was fine with regard to my recent 'injury', so I will go for a longer ride today. Weigh in day today and a further 3lb off this week, I am losing weight steadily and without any specific diet, just common sense, I have followed SW before but resent paying £5 a week and find it too hard and I am always starving despite eating my own body weight in potatoes everyday. Some days I was so hungry I would be shaking and would eat about 15 biscuits to get some sugar, I think I eat less now, don't obsess about what I am eating and we all have the same as a family and I am rarely hungry.

Today will be another blooming spend day as we are going grocery shopping, I have vouchers to use which will bring an £80 shop down to £60 but have no idea where I will put it all but £20 of free food is too much to miss.

SarahB - I know what you mean about selling things which need collection, there are so many time wasters. I sold something on ebay last week, it took 2 days for them to get in touch and I gave 3 days where I was available all after 4pm as I would be in regardless then, they never turned up which is why I wouldn't say 10am or something then wait in specially. I have requested a cancellation of the transaction and they haven't responded to that either. Why do they bid if they don't want to pick it up?
