Spendy day here, went for milk and got some other bits plus an easter egg. Exercise 11 done, so that's one target beat! Aiming for total of 20 this month now. On 7 SFDs.
Made another effort towards decluttering, listed two things on gumtree today and hopefully meeting someone tomorrow to get rid of one of them. Going to go through the wardrobe and see what can be ebayed this weekend too.New graduate trying to get debt-free.

Morning
I'm going to go to town tomorrow and get my bus pass set up. I don't know when they will take the first payment so if it's this month then the bus spends will go up to over £100 :rotfl: I'll pay any of the change I have left in to my Sealed Pot though and that'll at least be some savings to add this month - they've been few and far between.
Mama and Papa Mooo have been in town and last night we went out for a Chinese - ate far too much to the point where I still feel full this morningIt was nice, but I'm glad I don't do it often.
After dinner we nipped to Tesco because Mama Mooo doesn't have one near her. I had a list and was sticking to it well until I got to the reduced section - two whole chickens for £1 each and a HUGE ham reduced from nearly £11 to £2I never get those kind of bargains, so the timing worked really well. I would have taken a second ham but I knew the freezer was already groaning
Even better was that Mama Mooo insisted on buying all my groceries as she knows that this month has been tight for us. That means that I should definitely come in under budget this month - last night's shopping would only have come to about £20 but it's a great bit of breathing space for me, especially as we're nearly out of dry cat food which is £4 a bag at least.
Another SFD planned today and I'll get my exercise too as long as it stays dry0 -
SFD 7/15 yesterday and 6/12 gym :j
The PT who did my free session happened to be training at the same time as me so I got some more free tips and help! (I really should book a proper session with the man, I feel slightly guilty to be getting tutored for free!). I'm also chuffed that I get remembered, mind you not many girls venture to the squat racks and bench press :rotfl:
He also told me off for making excuses, which I think also applies to a few areas of my life...“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”
NSD Challenge: August 2017 2/150 -
mooomin- well done on the Tesco bargains, our local Tesco is rubbish at reducing stuff I think the manager there would rather throw it out, they knock a few pennies off at best. They have a rack where dented tins and torn packets go and they knock a few pennies off and the whole lot look like they have been through a war.
Apart from my prescription I didn't spend any money yesterday, I went for a run in the evening despite the pain as there is no way I am going back to square one, 4 weeks ago I couldn't run for 1 minute and I have worked hard to build it up to a couple of miles.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

- save £1025/£500
- 8/15 sfds
- groceries £45/£200
- 8/10 30 mins+ walks
I also intend to clear out the freezer, do more crafting and live a healthier life in April
Not only did I have £495 left from last month's wage (pesky £4 summat DD snook in there) but we got a bonus this month too! So I've transferred £1000 to our savings account this morning. Hubby's transferred over his bonus too
Won't be SFD as I need to do a supermarket trip tonight. Hoping to squeeze in 2 more long dog walks before he goes home tomorrow.0 -

I've never been able to time it properly with my local one. I always get there when there's nothing left but rapidly browning fish and a sad looking loaf!
I have much better luck in our local Asda where they half price the bread quite early so if you wander up at lunchtime you get a decent loaf cheaply. It's pot luck with the veg and meat but I can't fit another thing in the freezer at the moment, so I'll have to get creative about using up things that are already in the freezer!0 -
Hello Raindrops - am at number one of my new venues that have promised to house me and my colleagues for the next few weeks. Going to be a blissfully easy day with extended lunch breaks and a very early finish - still a little snuffly which is very annoying as my voice sounds blocked and annoying...
Very tired as per usual but heading out for my birthday dinner with my two girlfriends tonight so that will be nice...
More from me later... Hope everyone is okay!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better NSK.
Dolly84, where I work the dented tins go in the staff shopping area and torn packets (of food if it's exposed to the air) gets wasted off. One of the perks off my job is I can see non pershiable reductions on the shelves so I then pop in the next day and buy them!
Good day so far. I've had a declutter in the kitchen and I've taken all the baby books out of DSs room, a friend came over for coffee and I've just eaten a yummy bowl of my homemade bean soup yum!
Planned tea for us all, pork steak and spinach frittata anyone?
I've majorly messed up on shopping this month. With being injured last week DH got a lot of stuff and made the "my debit cards had a bashing" comment I gave him the last £20 out of the tin, still he spent more than that. *sigh* I have said to him I will help him set a budget but he just isn't interested. He's worried about his overdraft but won't do anything about it. Hey oh, not much I can do is there?
Our next big shop is due next Thursday but I'm not sure I will have enough for a week and may have to do some clever shopping to tide us over. I did cut the budget this month so will have to up it next month I think.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0
