Morning Raindrops - I am ALIVE I tell you ALIVE!

However some money shuffling is going on today - stand by for further!...(I'm all vintage'd up today - makes me feel happy. I have some Eastern Euro builder admirers on the tube in the mornings and I got a proper grin out of one of them today - haha)...

    Afternoon All,

Hope everyone who's ill is starting to feel a bit better xxx

Have been MIA for a few days due to work and being too tired to get the laptop out from its hiding place.

Have now got two weeks off work so after I dropped dd off at the childminder, I have been having a springcleaning frenzy this morning. We went down to Kent yesterday to collect the new sofa, I gave my ex (took us in his van) £20 for petrol and bought him some beers, but luckily the guy I do accounts for, had dropped me off £50 that morning, so paid for the trip out of that and put £20 into a savings pot!

Managed another SFD on Friday, but not Saturday, as DD spotted a ride-on car outside the charity shop and wouldn't get off it so I bought it! £5 well spent as she hasn't got off it since!

Popped to MrT this morning for cat food and baby wipes, so have pretty much wiped out the food budget for this month :( not good. Must try harder (wags finger). Anyhoo, back to cleaning out cupboards.

    Totals so far:
    6/15 SFD
    £63.25/£100 food budget
    6/30 items decluttered
    4/18 Exercise 3x weekly
13/30 Meal plan and eat 3 times a day
    £0/£3 food bank
    Get all paperwork organised
All a/c I do for others up to date
14/30 Keep the flat looking straight, not the current 'a bomb's just gone off' look
11/30 Update my budget spreadsheet daily
    13/30 NO TV

I caved in on the TV front and watched Mo run the marathon, hasn't been on since tho!

Have a lovely sunny day all xxxx

    Hello

I am really struggling on this challenge i cant stop spending !!!!. again its on food and things i don't really need but they are on offer but will use them eventually.

Not sure i will even get debt free this year as don't even know where to start to get the kick start i need .:(

Please can you throw me some tips/ideas on how people became debt free and living the frugal life ... been scouring the boards but not seen anything jump out at me.

Sorry for the whinge, and going off topic.

Hope everyone is doing well ... keep plodding on raindrops... i am off to get ready for work :(

Oh dear - time has run out for me. I will be back on tonight with ideas for LuckyStarr... tell me though - is there a reason you feel the need to spend? Do you feel you are missing out? Will miss out? Shop because you are bored? .... come from a deprived childhood - I am being serious here by the way...

Clocking up another SFD today, have done some cleaning at home, cleaned mine and DH's bikes and oiled the chains. After lunch me and the kids walked to my mum and dad's, we were going to drive but it isn't far as the crow flies so we took that route straight across the playing fields. Unfortunately whilst crossing the field the dog rolled on a dead duck and stinks to high heaven so now I need to bath him.

Will be going for a run later and yesterday I did 10 miles on my bike so the exercise is still going well.

luckystarr - there is no easy answer you just have to find your own way but one thing I will say is do a weekly shop and then stay away from the supermarkets, it takes planning but is totally doable and also remember that the offers come back around regularly so you are not missing a once in a lifetime chance to buy something.

I have months like that. Months where I spend on stuff that I genuinely need and months where I spend on stuff that I have ended up needing.
Last week was a nightmare as I ended paying out £16.10 on prescriptions, parking at the hospital and I was signed off work. I had no choice but I am still annoyed about it. This week I am being really tight and not going anywhere unless it is free haha!
It's an up and down journey to being DF, life happens, things crop up and bargains appear. One thing I would suggest is to have a buffer that you don't mind spending and that won't leave you short and to plan your spends so you can bulk them onto a couple of days.

    - save £25/£500
    - 6/15 sfds
    - groceries £45/£200
    - 5/10 30 mins+ walks

I also intend to clear out the freezer, do more crafting and live a healthier life in April :)

So far, so good! There is still £500 in my bank account and it's payday on Thursday so will hit my savings target.

Did a "treat" online grocery shop to take advantage of a £10 off voucher. Instead of going out with family on Sunday, they're coming to mine for lunch so bought a large gammon and a turkey crown and some desserts etc.

Dog sitting this week so plenty of walks to be had.
