Congrats Dolly84 on losing that weight - you kinda put me to shame being so active! I was well impressed... and apple muncher - that work out sounds crazy!!! A 26lb sandbag?!?!?
Mrs GSR - i hope your luck turns around soon!
Weddings, birthdays etc are always tricky - you don't want to appear stingy, but you don't want to overspend... My Dad's just hit and I sent him a card, and promised I'd take him and Mum out for dinner when they visit - but I might just homecook (!) them something...
Kat - if you decide to forgoe wheat - I'll join you! I'm a total bread fiend but I've really suffered this week feeling sluggish and bloated and crampy and I'm convinced it's the bread - even though I always eat wholemeal... It will be an interesting experiment! Back to the rice cakes haha!!! <cries>

To those of you thinking of giving up wheat - GO FOR IT!! :j:j
I have to be gluten-free as I'm coeliac. I try to keep off ALL grains (incl the gluten-free ones - rice, polenta, quinoa) and feel much much better when I do - more alert, more energy, happier, sleep better.
I'd suggest you plan a week's meals and snacks, as wheat is in sooooo many products, hiding sneakily. Also, up your protein intake to keep you feeling full. If interested, read up on Mark Sisson and marksdailyapple.com. Tho' it's not for everyone, I've found it to be an inspiring read.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hi all. Sorry not been checking in, I have well and truly come down with something
I can barely swallow and feel absolutely awful. Literally crawled to the tube station the last two days and am so glad its the weekend! My middle son has come down with it too!
Had a spendy day today. Bought some paracetamol as my joints were on fire and some ingredients to do some soup. Head quite dizzy, some i'm off. If anyone else is ill, get well soon, there appears to be some nasty bugs doing the rounds. Good luck everyone and have a great weekend :T:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -

Evening all, hope you feel better soon Traveller & Kat.
Well done to Moomin on the job and Dolly on the weight loss, applemuncher I wish I had space for a punch bag that sounds nuts but awesome!
I have been AWOL this week - really busy and only one SFD to report making 3 in total, making progress on garden and house jobs lined up for the weekend. I passed my first assignment and have another to do for after Easter.
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend0 -
SFD 5 today, and did 9th exercise session!
Had my eye on a fancy new moisturiser (with free night cream), had convinced myself it was ok cos I would go through Quidco and could sell the nightcream on ebay to recoup most of the cost and... Then I thought of Kat's potential response and fancy new moisturiser is staying in the shop.New graduate trying to get debt-free.

Evening all,
Congratulations dolly and hugs to everyone struggling with illness or upset
I am so happy to be on holidayI have already cleaned half the house this evening and will do the other half tomorrow, it was in dire need of it!
I have had a very spendy week and as seems to be the theme, I'm very sluggish and lethargic. Going to start The Skinny Rules again tomorrow and plan to go to the gym every day, although this will up my petrol costs. Will update my totals tomorrow when I have the laptop and spreadsheet to hand.

Spent money (avoided spending more - emotional need not a real one, will try to do a little pampering instead). Updated totals. Quietly pleasant day. Went to mum's. Played with baby. Did more craft stuff preparation (for next week) while baby played with smooth sticks and bits of wool (to be used in craft projects) - her mother had gone to watch 4yo in end of term assembly. Made rabbit pairs game with 4yo (used bits of cereal packet stashed behind mum's microwave). She and her mother played a few games, once we had taught her the game. Got a lift home. DS3 gave me leftover pizza.
Also put washing out at 3 am as I heard the wm finish and went down to put next load in. Another potential de-clutter - saw a woman training a (new) guide dog and asked if they needed old quilts - yes. Training centre is only 2 miles from house but not sure which buses go that way - will have to wait until I can walk a bit better (and quilts are yet another thing stuck in the attic).

morning all
no sfd yest as did the weekly shop. came to £15.15. as i start my food budget on 19th and that was the last shop, i can count how much is left. somehow i have managed to only spend £70 on food for the month :j:j:T think that is because mum bought me some stuff the weekend before new food budget starte. have stashed the £30 away for months i go over or when i need to stock up on my chicken and bacon (buy in bulk from catering place and its about £30).
eek to the talk of no wheat! although i dont eat that much stuff containing it except bread. wont want to give up my weekend toast though! i have quit sugar (except natural sugars) and am on day 27 :A really helping with my weight loss as think im addicted to it so once i get a hit i binge on it so is saving me about 2000 calories per binge! quite hard to binge on savoury food as its quite stodgy! also trying to cut caffeine down to 3 cups of coffee per day.
exercise is going ok. throwing myself into classes which is resulting in sore muscles so have been swimming inbetween them until i get used to it
mum is coming today so will be painting outside windows. going to sit on my tiled bathroom roof to do the one above it- fingers crossed it holds my weight and i dont break it!
random question- anyone know the best way of lifting floorboards? My loft is boarded with pine boards about 7inch wide and 3 metres long. they have nailed them in using loads of nails so not sure of best way. tried using claw hammer but it has just split the side as there are so many nails. will prob need to lift them all to get my insulation plus i have spotted a few victorian boards which i want to lift to sell with the others.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Thanks abundant, oldestgnome, fmess.
Mothernerd - could you ring the guide dog people and ask them to collect the quilts?
traveller - Get well soon.
I set my alarm for 6.30am today so I could get an early morning bike ride in but I turned it off during the night when it became apparent that I wouldn't be getting much sleep. I think I had about 3 hours, DH got home really late and I can't sleep till he gets in, then he banged about for ages, wanted to talk, then was snoring, then more talking and then I couldn't get to sleep. I was starving when I woke up too so I will run and cycle later on today.
Not sure what our plans are for today and whether they involve spending money but if they do it won't be much. I have some items ending on ebay today but only one has bids but it is almost £60.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
