  • Apologies for being so bad at checking in; have been getting my handover ready at work as I'm taking all next week off to revise. However, I also got asked to participate in some market research which pays £100 as a thank you. So that'll be an extra payment towards my debt, which is brilliant. I have a day trip to Oxford planned tomorrow, (train tickets paid for with rail vouchers that I was given after they stranded me in Southampton for 8 hours!!) so that will be a nice break.

Hoping to improve my exercise and spending next week when I'm on leave, today will be a spendy day as we are having a team lunch at work and probably tomorrow too. However, payday next week so that's good!

    Morning all...

Am having a spendy month - and annoyingly - I have been spending on a loaf of bread here... a sandwich there, meaning I'm not accumulating many SFDs at all. Grrrrr. I will try harder!!!

Am being inspired by all the talk of detoxing! Admittedly I've done some overtime and so my usual mid week day off has been a no-go and I've really felt it. I'm less organised, I've not got to the gym, and I've eaten really badly... I'm feeling sluggish and tired and I'm sure I have caffeine poisoning ha ha as I'm waking up feeling nauseaous at the thought of drinking coffee...

    Time to detox!

I was wondering if you have actual juicers or are using a blender? I have a small one I use to make smoothies - will that do? I'll give it a go. Am on the herbal teas, and am going to try and just eat fruit/veg for the next few days... Kat - maybe you feeling icky is a good thing - all the toxins coming out and leaving your system...?

Have a good day all :)

    Morning all.

Kat - hope you are on the mend soon and I agree with Abundant - the nasties are being purged.

Well I am Mrs super organised this morning, I have stripped and re-made 3 beds, washed all the sheets etc and pegged out, done an 8.5 mile cycle ride after the school run, sorted out my Avon books and have done a bit of work. Will carry on with work until lunch then after I will take the dog to the woods, later I need to make bread for the weekend.

Today will be a spend day as DH is going out tonight for a dinner, the meal is paid for just drinks beforehand and taxis to pay tonight. He rarely goes out so I am totally fine about it and we have cut back on other entertainment expenses to pay for it.

Today is weigh in day and another 2lb off, I am pleased as two meals I had this week (made by me) were not very good for weight loss, I need to start having a shake up of my eating as I am running and cycling so much now I need to think about energy levels. I have lost a total of 23lb now since mid January.

Hope you are all having the same gorgeous weather we are today and have a good Friday all.

  • Hello All! Sorry I've been AWOL for so long.

Edinburgh Wedding was fantasic! So much fun, and lovely to see such close friends get married. But not cheap either. I've basically spent far more than I had this month *sigh* but I'm OK with it. Well I'm not, but it was important to be there, and I didn't spend proflicately or anything.

Anyway, it's spurring me on to be super frugal for the rest of the month. And since I got back I've had all SFDs, so that's a good start.

I will catch up on the thread over the next few days, but I hope that everybody is doing well, and hugs to those who need them.

Hi everyone, it's been a tough few days as I have had various appointments and home issues to deal with. I've also failed on SFD terribly, Wednesday I had to give DH money for the hospital car park, yesterday I had to pay for yet another prescription :( today my car went for its MOT and it passed! I already had the money saved for this, does that count as SF? If not no worries, this month is already being a massive fail as it is. I know I'm not going to achieve 15 due to how busy this month is.

Despite passing the MOT my brakes need work done, I'm quoted £200 for it so I might grab £150 out of the emergency fund for that as I have £50 left in my car fund, but I'll check with DH if he is happy for me to do that, then I will begin saving for my car insurance from the next payday.

In other news I will be having an op on my knee to clear out the torn cartlidge as enough is enough as far as the consultant is concerned, I can't go on like this with it giving way especially with having two young children to look after. I'm still in pain but at least I can walk now, albeit slow and old ladyish!

I hope everyone is doing ok, hugs to those who need them xx

  • No posts for over a week and then two in one day!

Just listed two items on eB4y. Only 99p starting bids as it's free and kind of a case that I'm being paid (tiny amounts! :rotfl:) to de-clutter. Hopefully of course they will go for loads more than that!

I am claiming another NSD - 5 now!

Dd and I have had a good pottering day and I spent an hour clearing the front garden. I would've done the back too, but 2 other girls came round to play, so that idea was shelved.

Having had 3 spend days, getting in a NSD is important to help feel in control again. And doing jobs like the garden and sweeping the floor, doing washing and washing up all help to bring neatness and order. For a little while at least!

Mrs GSR, hope you can get operated on quickly and it all goes well.

    Kat - get well soon!:grouphug:

dolly84 - wow to the weight loss! Well done you!

I have a job :j It's a temporary one paying £9.96 an hour which isn't too bad and will give me breathing space while I look for something more permanent.

    So chuffed :D

May as well do my usual while I'm here :)

    Post daily: 11/30
    Decluttering: 25/100
    Jobs applied for: 13
    Exercise: 7/20
    SFD: 6/15
    Travel (bus): £17.50/£40
    Food: £51.60/£150
    Petrol: £35.28/£100
    Misc spends: £83.96/£160

Today was a SFD because I'm not going anywhere. I did loads of raking in the garden yesterday and my muscles are really feeling it :( So that reduces the exercise sadly, but as I'm starting work on Tuesday I'm planning on going for a good walk at lunchtimes or walking home to get the exercise amount up! I'm going to be really near a huge free museum too, so if the weather is bad I can walk round there at lunchtimes!

I actually feel like I have been run over! It's not good. Weird how Mumsy is feeling the same way. I am hoping this means all the toxins are saying bye bye... been reading more about diet and how it affects my skin. Wheat seems to be a massive culprit so I might try a month with no wheat... gonna kill me. I have a box of raison wheats on my desk at work! Grrr!

Anywa nowt much to report here apart from a spend for oranges at Lidls when I dragged myself out to post an EBay parcel..

Would you believe they want £11 for a special delivery for Royal Mail and Hermes is £4.78..?? Never using Royal Mail again!!!

All payments for my eBay sells are in - £98 after postage is ok I guess.

Sending the MacBook case back as well...

Right I need to sleep for an hour or so...
