Hello everyone!
Congrats to Grannie Broon - that's been a long time waiting - we were talking about you waiting when my *babies* were hatching - they are over 2 weeks old now!
Big hugs to Jackie O. We're all thinking of you, and sending positive vibes.
Had some sad news when I got home, messafe from MIL to say that DH's cousin has died. It was out of the blue, but as he was *morbidly obese*, not entirely unexpected. MIL has asked that I tell DH, but as he's still out of the country (and it's 2am where he is) it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I've sent him an e-mail asking if he'll ring me.
See you all later, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Oh no. Penny I'm sorry. And what an awful thing to have to keep from him even for just a few hours.
Granny, I'm so delighted by your news. Enjoy yourself. You must be over the moon.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Hi all
raining bad here this afternoon, garden got flooded out, so dh swept the water away, well some of it anyway:rolleyes: helped our neighbours too, sadly one of the other neighbours made out they were the worst when we know ours was, this was when the sandbags arrived so they got most of them:mad: we had taken photos when it was bad, nearly up to doorstep but the guys refused to see the photos!
Us and next door neighbour only 2-3 sandbags whereas other neighbour got nearly a whole pallet of them, we are not amused!! and they got the guys to sweep their water away!
Kids were really excited tonight, they got to be on the telly:j well u could see their red jumpers:rotfl: in the distance, some of u may remember i put on a pic of our bridge in the village, well today marked the 250th birth of thomas telford who designed the bridge, so the school was there, top civil engineers and a guy from the university from houston, kids were beside themselves
Went into town today but had to take long route as our main road in closed due to a landslide due to all the heavy rain, took ages:eek:

Evening all
Well, fairly dull day in the thrift household -library and not much else really.
OH has taken ds1 off to Army Cadets to see if he'll like it. Ds1 has a bit of a thing about weapons  not sure if this is the best way to tackle it or not. I think maybe channelling it into some sort of positive, organised activity is a good thing. OH is worried the army cadets will be full of thugs and bullies (when he was a scout some of them tied a boy up and strung him over a fire:eek: ). Anyone got any experience of army cadets ?
Congratulations to Granny Broon  , Gingham my washing machine is constantly full of wet washing at the moment -no where to hang it all
Ticklemouse I've missed your avatar - yum0 -
Thank you Gingham Ribbon
I just managed to do it.

Hi everyone, just had a read through - you're all so friendly, hope you don't mind me joining in.....I love these boards, have only been on here a short while but you've all inspired me loads to be more organised and economical with my meal planning. Have 3 little Mutants plus hubby so it really helps.
Feeling really chuffed with myself today as cleaned the bathroom, did the dusting, sorted 2 lots of washing and put it away. Then, with the help of these boards, planned the weeks menu - made salmon and courgette kebabs for hubby and cheesy salmon fishcakes for the little ones (as well as more for the freezer) and thanks to Penelope Penguin, made choc and banana muffins - it all went down pretty well!!
I'm also resolving to save all small change in large vodka bottle I have, and to try and grow at least one item of my own produce. Got to start somewhere eh!If Life Deals You a Lemon - Make Lemonade!! :j0
