Really wish I could take advantage of this offer, but the nearest any of these gym's has a branch is 48 miles away... little far for a nightly workout methinks  Nearest gym we have at all is 18 miles (cept one scary local run one which is almost entirely bar and smells disgusting just walking past it), does anyone know if any of these gyms have a way for you to suggest new places to open one?!

How long does PruHealth's status last?

If, for example I joined in January 08, gained Platinum status in November, will I revert back to nothing in January 09? I was hoping to get those discounted screenings. Do I have to take it in Nov or Dec?
  • Once you gain Platinum status in November 08 you will remain Platinum until January 2010. The vitality points you gain in 09 is for your status on renewal in 2010. Hope this helps.

I did my second fitness assessment today in order to get 300 points. The figures were simply wrote down on a scrap of A4 paper instead of the Pruhealth headed form that they used last time.

Last time the assessment appeared on my vitality points almost instantly, was there as soon as I got home. Today, I've done it in the morning and it's still not there this evening.

How long should I leave it before I ask Pruhealth if they're received the figures?

I thought the gym faxed it for you. They did that the last time.

I got a photocopy of the stats they took but it's all hand written, I noticed it doesn't have my Pruhealth ID on so I don't know how Pru will know which account to add the points to. It does actually have the name of the gym and is signed.

I think I'll give it a few days, then fax it off myself if I haven't had a reply.
  • My friend and I joined the Virgin gym (then Holmes Place) near our work on Fulham Road over a year ago.

All was well until Pruhealth switched us to the new system when the number of times the gym log you in equates to how much you pay.

We've found out the gym hasn't been logging us properly and for the next quarter Pruhealth are going to charge us £83 a month!!!

They say, for example, that I went 8 times in November, but I was definitely going 3-4 times a week then.

We can't afford this kind of money (it used to be £25 a month) and don't know how to prove to Pru that the gym system must be wrong.

We've called up Pru and told them and they say they're investigating but for the time being the money is just going to disappear from our accounts.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Did my fitness assement but nothing was recorded at the gym - didn't realise I would have to fax it over myself

I don't know if it was wise but calculated how much all this 'discount gym membership' has cost me since signing up in August and the average monthly cost is £40.60 which is exactly the same as I would be paying if I had gone direct to my local LA Fitness I guess I did not account for having to pay £25 for a second quarter because of 2 measly visits

Thankfully I am now on £0 for the current 1/4 but still I am afraid that disillusionment has set in, especially as Quidco & Pru are playing silly !!!!!!s with my cashback 2 months after I should have received it. If anyone had told me I would have spent £300 in 7months on gym membership I would have called them a liar :( Maybe I should have just stuck with my trusty YMCA...

For the fitness assessment, I called Pru first, got some code (number) which I was to give to Cannons. I was to get the name of the instructor and call Pru back. I gave the number to Cannons gym, did the assessment, got the name of the instructor, called Pru when I got home to tell them the name of the instructor, then faxed the results:o 300 points was worth it though;)
