How do you find out what tier a virgin active is?

My Leeds one says their memb is £40 off peak with no contract , which doesn't tell me much

I telephoned pru health and asked them.

  • OK, registered with Pru Health, received the pack today. Went to LA Fitness website as it says in pack. Registered and paid my £25 fee for both me and wife (joint policy)...

...went to Pru Health website and regsitered...questions....

    - when I try and activate our gym memberships I only have a choice of Virgin, Cannons and JJB? No LA Fitness?!

    - how do I get the Vitality points for my wife for registering on line and doing the health asessment? Currently only I can get them and when I try and register my wife - it won't let me!
  • Ok, now answered all my questions....however....one more....

On the Pru Health gym statement it obviously says I haven't been yet as I just signed up...however the statement says that the fee for the next quater is £38 per month - I presume this upates throughout the current quarter once you reach the milestones needed to get the £25 and £0 rates?

I imagine the £38 if for you AND your wife. Otherwise it would be showing as £25 for each of you until it levels out after 3months (depending on usage).

Thanks, didn't realise you could search.

At 39 I get a quote for £36, which means, not so cheap, though I suppose its only for year one until I can qualify for the rebates... Assuming they don't amend the policy before that time with all the sign ups!!

  • help!!

i am currently a Virgin Active diamond member in Leeds and am trying to join in on the cheaper gym membership bandwagon... just been looking at the "TopCashBack" website (according to some of the posts you can get cashback and make bigger savings if applying for Pru Health insurance through this site) but i am a little confused- do i just click on the "online purchase of policy for one person" (just me) and assume that i will be eligible for this cheaper gym membership malarkey? somehow i doubt it- any advice would be appreciated! thanks.

Hi Skintdragon, you can but have to be careful I've read where people have looked at the quidco saving and then the Boots (who give points if you go via them), then gone back and joined through quidco only to be denied any moneyback because boots stored a cookie that meant pruhealth saw them as the affiliate link not quidco.

Bear in mind you can't simply switch and need to cancel your diamond membership and rejoin through Pruhealth. So no good if still in your contract period.
