Anyone received their 115 quid from quidco as yet? I joined in September and am still waiting. On pruhealth its showing two entries of 0.00 as paid in Feb? I am still paying for gym membership/healthcare.

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

I posted the same in post 480. Mine is showing as paid in January 0.00. Have made contact with quidco and supplied all membership details and can only wait and see. This is turning out to be the most costly thing I have taken unboard via MSE

I took mine out in August last year and the Quidco paid out at the end of December. My experience was that if I started doing quotes, they would track at 0.00, and it was only when I actually went through with it that it tracked at 115.00 - so I hope you both get your money!

Also, with regards tracking of visits - I too noticed it was very hit and miss and to be honest I think it was teething trouble because for me at least, they seem to register my visits on a weekly basis now (this is for LA Fitness), i.e. my visits up until Sunday for the previous week appear on the Tuesday on my Vitality Statement. So again, I hope you find that the same happens for you....

Thanks, at least I'm not the only one, my visit tracking through Virgin has been very accurate so far in all the gyms I use (4 in London).
  • London city YMCA Gym membership starts at £20 per month. might be even cheaper outside London. Not very upmarket, but good enough for the price.

Went to Cannons gym yesterday, and noticed no chlorine smell in the pool. I wonder what they use instead?

It probably means the pool is well maintained and the water very clean - the stronger a swimming pool smells of chlorine, the dirtier the water. The smell is a result of the chlorine working hard to break down ammonia, which could be because you're swimming in lots of diluted wee :p

    Oh no, yuck...!_pale_
  • I went swimming at LA Fitness today, have been going for a while but today was the first time I took my goggles. Found that I ended up dodging the used plasters and rusty hairclips! _pale_

So maybe I won't bother with goggles next time - ignorance is bliss! :D

I'm trying to work out whether this would be beneficial for me but I'm quite confused and hence looking for help!

On the PruHealth website it said my quote would be £23 per month which seems great. When i look at "whypayforthegym" it says the gym will cost £15 for the first 3 months, that being Virgin Gym in Edinburgh. So is that amount added on top of the £23? How much will it cost after 3 month? Also I'm a student, with a membership being £39 right now, whats the best option?

I have been looking, and I apologise if I am wrong, but it looks like the gym you want to go is a tier 2. This means that you pay your £23 per month. You will also have to pay a sign up of £25 (if you are not already a member) Then the first 3 months will be charged at £40.00 per month. If you then become a regular visitor and visit on average TWICE a week or more you will be charged £23 per month for your health insurance and £15 for gym membership.

    Hope that this makes sense.

I've been a Pruhealth member for 7 months, just managed to hit platinum status. Of course I won't get any benefit from it for another 5 months...
