    I'm so sorry that he is behaving like this. How hurtful and nasty to say things like that about you. It's absolutely not appropriate, and in the long run it'll be for the best that you've seen his true colours.

    The advice about speaking to your tutor, to be changed to a different group, is good. Ideally, he would be moved, and you and your friend could work together. But I appreciate that it's delicate.

    I hope that your friend is being supportive xxx
