Are you sure about that? It hasn't been going a long time, so seems a bit soon. Asda mobile is moving to EE.

Sainsburys has a free monthly bundle on orders in the next couple of weeks, so it's an interim position at least

    Sainsburys offer details HERE

There are other threads on the Ovivo replacement.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

That will be news to Sainsbury,s and Vodafone.

I think your mixing them up with Asda,;)

Another vote for Talkmobile - £7/month SIM only or with a FREE phone.

    (Don't forget Quidco)

So that would be 7.75 at three payg, without any bundles. And you can change at anytime.

    Edit. Damn, coverage!

Offers by TalkTalk and TopCashBack is at topcashback.co.uk/talktalk-mobile.
    Many to choose from
  • Just to say that I requested a PAC code for a relative this morning at 11am and they provided it within only two hours.

However it now says at www.ovivomobile.com:-
This website will be taken offline on 10th April 2014.

So we need to get on with using this ASAP as there will be no one left to complain from April 10th onwards if a number port fails. Ditto anyone who has not yet requested a PAC code is advised to do so ASAP but Ovivo does seem to be handling this efficiently now that the initial rush is over.

For my relative's needs I'm finding it quite hard to decide between Three's 1-2-3, Virgin Media £7 per month with 30 day contract, 150 minutes, 500MB data and unlimited texts or TalkMobile's £7 per month deal on 1 month contract with 250 Minutes of calls, 500MB of data and 5,000 texts.

On the whole I suspect that Three 1-2-3 will actually be cheapest for them as in a typical month they only make 100 minutes of calls, send 20 texts and use no more than 100Mb of data (say a £4.40 cost). However the cut over point to a pay monthly tariff comes up quite quickly and also having to top up is a hassle (compared to automatic monthly allowance renewal on a contract) unless Three have an auto top up option when credit falls below a certain balance. On the other hand if you exceed the capped amount with TalkMobile or Virgin the run on phone and data prices are very high.

Not keen on GiffGaff due to all the complexity with GoodyBags etc and the lack of voice based telephone support. TescoMobile now not quite such good value now that they have dropped their offer tariffs with more minutes and more data and reverted to their less generous deals. TalkMobile offers the same thing for only £7 per month although it has to be said that Tesco Mobile has pretty good telephone customer service if you have a problem and there is also the back up from the in store shops as a last resort.

I suppose the good thing about Three's 3-2-1 is that if you suddenly need another 500 minutes in the month you just pay £15 for them and there is none of this nonsense of having to pay 20p per minute this month and only being able to upgrade your contract to a higher allowance from the start of the next billing month.

For your relative it would be good choice Phone.coop PAYG,because youan choose how much you want minutes, text, and mb as your monthly bundle, and depend of that, you pay differently. Take a look on their website.

As usual with the Phone Coop (hyphen omitted deliberately) their prices are actually pretty expensive compared to their rivals, despite their mutual non profit making status.

Three's 321 PAYG offer is likely to be £3 to £4 per month cheaper for the same thing at least and the £7 one month contract offerings from Virgin and Talk Mobile also both offer considerably more value for money wise.

I think some of you just seem to get carried away when you see the magic words Co-Op without questioning the actual value for money involved.
  • Hi Ive ended up after a lot of time on the phone going with Vodafone and getting a "sim only deal" it initially was going to cost me £10.50 PM but they offered me the same deal for £9 and I stuck to my guns and got it for £7 PM.

300 mins, unlimited texts and 250MB of data based on a 12 month contract.

Talk talks best was 250 mins, 5000 texts and 500MB of data.

I don't use the data and it saves me the hassle of changing service providers.
