Lots of Ovivo topics so I'll put this here.

Bought a Sim for the wife on march 13th. Not activated it yet. So as far as I am concerned it is money for a service I have not received (though thats just my opinion lol)

I paid using a credit card and have lodged a chargeback claim as it's under the £100 section 75 limit.

    never done a chargeback before

    What are my chances?

    Thanks

Why are you asking a question that no one can answer...its like saying war numbers shall i pick to win the lottery...no one can give you the right answer apart from your bank...call them and ask them rather than asking crazy questions here

No need to get arsey it was just a question.

I've already rung them and requested the chargeback.

    Quite high I would say.

Also got a sim last week (for the OH) and ported her number on Monday (!).

Called the credit card company I paid with and they said they'd refund, although they'll need to check with Ovivo before the refund is permanent.

The even told me about today's BBC article on Ovivo.

We all pay when too good to be true deals are heavily promoted. I have every right to voice my opinion. I don't take out too good to be true deals. The promoter should pay when deals go bad. The costs should not be passed on to all of us by encouraging the use of chargeback or claims on credit cards - it is increasing the costs on all of us and unless the promoter pays there is no reason not to advertise the next too good to be true deal.

Can you explain to me where I personally am paying when I am not a customer of Ovivo and never use a credit card?

Yip. Not holding out much hope of keeping the numbers now.

Can you reply to the email, or is it a special no-reply address?

The costs of doing business for banks in this case, and credit card companies for purchases over £100 increases and these are passed on to us all.

The oxygen given this deal by MSE will have vastly increased the costs. These should be for MSE to pay for deals it sold, then those of us who do not take out too good to be true deals are not affected.
  • I just bought a card for £20 and hadn't used it yet - what a waste!

How did you pay...if via paypal then launch a claim/dispute...should get refund in 11 days time regardless

If with debit or credit card, call your bank/card company and ask about a chargeback....you may have lost nothing
