What can I do .... Dog differences

Dog was anxious, nervous, bad Bowels but as others have explained that maybe due to missing owner, unfamiliar surroundings? All bowel troubles happily cleaned up by me. I don't know anything about psychology of dogs but I would guess the poor thing was distressed in unfamiliar surroundings?
Yes exactly, maybe a reason for the constant turning around as he was unable to get settled due to being anxious. Maybe nothing to do with the bed?0 -

The bed had a foam base, dog arrived, smelling of dog which is fine we never mentioned to owners, never conversed over that at all, we washed dog, all fine, dog bed smelt of dog, fine, we will wash dog bed, went to take it apart and within the zipped up outer was clumps of eroded foam ( OH think but only thinks and was never mentioned to owner eroded due to very old age and weeing in bed over time) so dog had no bottom to his foam bed, no cushioning, no comfort place to rest hence the turning...0 -
What sort of responses are you looking for here Victory?
(My dogs will sometimes do the turning thing multiple times before settling down to sleep on my bed, which is certainly comfortable enough. Its about patting the surface down I think.)0 -

Nothing really I suppose because anyone not seeing the dog bed would not be able to see the bed needed to be binned, the cushion inside the bed there was none, your dog bed would have some foam, cushioning though? I know dogs turn for a comfortable position but the point is there wasn't one to be had within the foaming, cushion, lost its mojo dog bed.
I also truly appreciate a dog bed is very comforting for the dog but as I previously asked could a dog not be bought another bed and slowly maybe be weened off the foam less bed into another new foam filled one?0 -
He's not your dog though.
You've made your feelings clear to them, they made their feelings clear to you. I suggest you don't broach the subject with the owners again, or -god forbid- buy a bed yourself! He's not your dog.0 -

No she is not mine. No dog bed mentioning again. Was going to buy one yes as felt so sorry for her, yes they can afford one, no, they don't want to buy one, why? No idea, they said no to us and no to themselves buying one, no she is not mine, if she was I would not let her sleep in the bed she has now.0 -

Maybe the bed did need to be binned, maybe not, either way surely its obvious that your friend was going to take kindly to what you told her?0 -

If I had gone ahead and bought another dog bed I could see owner being as described ... Incadesent with rage as to who did I think I was to replace etc, also it is owners property, I am no one to go and bin someone's property and just replace without mentioning, consulting, asking if I can replace, that would have been a whole lot worse surely?
I could have upset the dog as explained to me which is not at all what I was trying to do, I wanted the dog to be happy, settled and comfortable, the original dog bed did not provide that, whichever way the dog is uncomfortable and we tried to prevent that?0 -
What you don't seem to be getting is that you told your friend you didn't think she was looking after her dog properly.
That's a huge thing to say to a dog owner. If its true, they're bound to get defensive, if its not they will rightly be very insulted.0 -

A monumental exageration would you not say? Mentioning the dog bed translated into ' I don't think you look after your dog properly' one hell of a leap from the actual truth. It could be huge thing to say... I never mentioned it once, never hinted, insinuated or any other wordings, the dog bed was and remains in poor condition, the dog continues to sleep in an uncomfortable dog bed, my previous questions were not answered?
I'm all for adding a bit of spicy drama gossip hear say to a thread, post but the facts are better to focus on, we've established the bed leaves a lot to be desired, fact and never ever did I ever say to owner that I thought she was not looking after her gorgeous cuddly loveable dog properly.
Mentioning the foam on a bed to ' you cannot look after your dog properly' is such a massive distortion of facts it is quite silly.0
