I switched Wed 2nd at 1300 and EOn e-mail Thurs 3rd at 0845 so looks like a 21 day switch.
@ Maxwell007 I can't remember seeing anybody report receiving a credit refund from Extra Energy voluntarily with some even reporting that they've been waiting since April!
There can be no acceptable excuse for any delay and I can see this needing yet another formal complaint with words like theft together with threats of court action and bailiffs being required with a copy to ben.jones@extraenergy.com to try and move things along. From what I can see in the original terms & conditions they have a maximum of 6 weeks from the date you leave to provide you with a final bill/statement and to me that's also the timescale I will be working to for the refund of any credit due.0 -
Have decided to switch from EE's Fixed Price Sept 2015 to their Bright Fixed Price Nov 2016 v2 at the end of the month. Looks like around £80 a year cheaper than I'm currently paying.
If other providers' variable tariffs come down massively in the next 15 months, then I'll just factor the £25 exit fee into any calculations before potentially switching away...0 -
Extraenergy are a deplorable utility company. Having ignored my emails for nearly 3 months when I asked for a final bill and when they did they said they would send me it Asap they have reneged on this and instead written to me 3 times charging me each time and the last threatening a warrant of entry application. The 1st of these letters claimed I did not respond to a recent letter to me. I never recieved such a letter. They hardly ever answer when I ring but keep me holding on til I have to give up. I held on waiting for two hours today. When I do get through they invariably have not a clue how to resolve anything but just tell me to wait for this much promised final bill. They telephoned me out of the blue before these threatening letters arrived asking me to pay the outstanding balance of my bill. I asked what bill? The caller asked if I had received a bill. I replied no. They ended call saying they would liase with their billing department. Then came the three threatening lettsrs which i think a template ones. What an awful deplorable way to run a utility company.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0

The only way to deal with these amateurs is by getting the ombudsman involved & I promise you they soon move their backsides.
We had never ending problems with EE & as soon as we got the ombudsman involved everything was resolved very very quickly.
Never ever will we use EE again!0 -

Am currently considering if I should do the same - the new EE tariff would be about £60 cheaper for us then our current deal and only £3/4 year more expensive than the cheapest deal currently on the market (a variable tariff with GB Energy Supply - no idea what they are like)
If you do switch to the Bright Fixed Price Nov 2016 v2 tariff won't the change happen immediately?
With EE, we haven't had any real problems but only one bill (after 6 months - received in May, dated March)

Hi Sunil, I did indeed go ahead with the switch as detailed above. EE's web-site told me the new tariff would apply from 1st October, i.e. after the current September 2015 tariff expires.
My experience with EE sounds similar to yours, we have only had the one bill (dated April 2015, received July 2015), but as I know our direct debit is pretty much spot on for our usage, I'm not too worried about being billed any more frequently!0 -

All I can say is good riddance
Had to get the Ombudsman involved as they refused to waive exit fees even after they promised to. The complaints handler was worse than useless, never did she once return my calls, emails, until the ombudsman got involved and even then it was a calling as I was told.
Anyway you would think this would be over, however they have since refunded me the huge amount I was in credit with them for, but still charged exit fees, so off to the Ombudsman to advise as they had spoken to them and were even told that I wouldn't be charged.
A TOTAL NIGHTMARE.0
