Add your feedback on energy supplier Extra Energy

ExtraEnergy a terrible company, I have been with them 9 months. I cannot get them to send me a bill. I have phoned and complained, emailed and complained and filled in their on-line form to complain. They are happy enough to take my direct debit but they don't answer my complaint and they won't send me a bill.0

I was with Extra Energy for about 10 months until we moved house. They were so frustrating to deal with, involving many phone calls and e-mails to get any bill out of them after 6 months and also when we moved house. (I had no intention of using them for the new house). We received our final bill 3 months after we'd moved. I had given up chasing them as I had calculated that we would about break even when we left. The final bill came to just £12 which I have paid. Of course my online account is still open and still shows £12 debit.
On the plus side they didn't charge me the £50 exit fee. I had previously told them that they shouldn't charge it as they broke the contract first with such poor service. Whether it was that or because we moved house I don't know.0 -

Well, Ben Jones' argument falls down at this point: 'Jones said Extra Energy is in favour of suppliers informing consumers on bills of the cheapest tariff on the market'. Or maybe that's his cunning reason for not providing bills.0 -
EOn are about £20 cheaper for me so bye bye EE hello again EOn
. DD cancelled

I've just done another calculation from readings kindly taken by by husband. Calculating the next week as a proportion of today's reading for the next seven days until my switch, Extra Energy will owe me £60.40 - so if they hadn't raised my dd briefly and for one month, once to £160 and once to £165, until I complained, we would be within £5 at the end of our contract with each other.
What is wrong with energy suppliers' algorithms? Am I wrong to suspect sinister over-calculating?“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Got my e-mail from EOn this morning, start date set for 22nd Sep and on line account set up.
I've changed my mind and decided to take my electric to E.ON on the MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Sept 2015 Online if only to be free of Extra Energy for once and for all.
I applied yesterday but to give me an idea of the expected timescale for receipt of the Welcome Letter/email from E.ON when did you make your switch application request through CEC?
The only reason I'm asking the last time I tried to use CEC to request a switch to Ovo it took CEC (moneysupermarket) 6 weeks to send the application to Ovo by which time I'd obviously taken my business elsewhere using another switching site and ended up cancelling my CEC account in disgust.0 -
I switched Wed 2nd at 1300 and EOn e-mail Thurs 3rd at 0845 so looks like a 21 day switch.0

Hi youravinalarrrf
Just spotted this post. I replied to a similar question on another thread. It's at the link below.

In particular, post 63 but there's also some stuff in post 67 about Faster Switching that might help. Basically, we introduced Faster Switching earlier this year so we'll be looking to complete your move in about two and half weeks from the date it started.
Hope this helps and have a good weekend.
