Edit: I note EE assumes over 33,000 KwH per annum for gas, which is some 8,000 more than we used last year...
Just been going through my details and they think I will use over 6000 kwh of gas more next year than this past 12 months. Worth checking if you have one of these emails. I've used 11500 kwh in the past 12 months so it looks like the more gas you use the more they think you will use next year looking at Lisa's post.
I will look on the tariff change page to see if there is one that ends in late spring but really should have moved in april/may this year with a small credit and took the £50 hit.
edit: just had a look on a comparison site and apart from GB energy supply EE is the cheapest. Decisions , decisions....0 -
It's like EE have a new cheaper deal to try make you stay with them and to try to make more suckers join them loool, well I'm not having it so I'm off in the next few weeks, if you get gas and yur lecky separate it cheaper, try Isupply and dillagas.
To be fair they are better now compared with 2 4 6 8 10 11 months ago, but they are just hard work0 -

I think we all need to check the predicted usage amount and note here how close (or not) it is to actual amount used. Another energy company scam in my opinion!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Just found mine in my junk folder (which is appropriate)
That's where I found mine too. Have now initiated a switch to Ovo - not quite as cheap but gets very good reviews for customer service etc.
Will be interesting to see whether EE drags its heels in the transfer process... (and how long it takes to get my money back - thankfully not a huge amount, having cancelled my DD last month).0 -

Checked junk folder still nothing, how come i'm not surprised about this, I am taking it I can still just switch without this notice from them? pretty sure this is the case but a confirmation would be nice
They did finally send me a bill the other week after over 13 months, DD down to £99 from £193, now £985 in credit with them, wonder how long it will take to get whatever they owe me at the end?0 -

This all sounds like a repeat of my situation (except I've not received a bill yet).0 -
"Don't forget the last 2 winters have been mild. My gas usage in the last 12 months was about one third less than 3 and 4 years ago. Perhaps the whole industry uses a factor with a 5-year or so average."
Could be right there Chas, but I am so convinced that energy suppliers' algorithms for calculation of usage/cost are so flawed that they wouldn't be so clever, and besides, who is to say we won't have another mild winter? If they can increase my (anyone's) assumed consumption by one third on the basis of a "maybe" then they are surely causing hardship wantonly, particularly in the direction of those individuals who most need to be charged (only) for what they must use, such as households like ours who use considerably more fuel because of illness which restricts the ability of some to regulate their body temperature.
In addition to which, here on the West Lancs coast our weather is generally very mild. December 2010 was a freak occurence and was only the fourth time in 23 years that slow lay on the ground and temperatures were so low.
If they do use a five-year average algorithm, then they should adjust for location too.
Edit: I don't think it can be a five-year average because when you go on comparison sites they don't "assume on" an extra one third.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
