Yes, I know, but hey ho, I didn't want to re-do my spreadsheets, it was close enough and to be fair, EE's bills were always slightly (very slightly) lower than my calcs, probably because of this.

  • Popped back here to see how you are all doing. Sorry to see still having problems with EE.

I have been back with EDF for 3 months and they have asked for 2 meter readings and have submitted two bills and reduce my DD.

I recommend that you leave EE, as soon as you can as it really gets you down dealing with companies like this. You can find competitive prices without the hassle.

    Good Luck to everyone :grouphug:

Hi- I'm having the same problems as many others in this thread- no bill, no idea if I owe them money or they owe me, lack of response from customer services etc. I've had enough and have decided to switch to EON. I have a switch date of the 23rd of this month.

I was just wondering if I ought to cancel my direct debit now (this month's payment was already taken on the 7th)? I have absolutely no confidence in them and would prefer they request any money I owe them via an invoice rather than them taking it directly via DD. I'm also getting concerned that they can mess up my switch in some way- is that possible?

Left them 3 months ago. Think I owe them about £100 and they haven't produced a final bill or collected (although they did stop taking DD's, bless them). Cancelling my DD today, a brilliant company to do business with !

Moral of the story, keep your DD low and never rack up a credit.

Yes, without any doubt! In any case, if you are switching on the 23rd you don't want them to take yet another automatic DD payment next month.

It's very unlikely that you owe them and so you don't want to add to the sum that you will need to recover after they eventually sort out your final bill.

If you read back over the last few pages of this thread you'll see that several of us have cancelled our DDs in similar circumstances and, although you may receive a fairly stiffly worded email, when you speak to them and say you are leaving they are actually very understanding and don't apply any penalties.

If only their system was rather better at producing timely bills! (Although it's not actually very hard to do a simple manual calculation of approximately what you owe them/they owe you - and doing that may give you more confidence in your dealings with them).

From past experience my advice to anyone switching from EE is DO CANCEL your DD whether you are in credit or not. I switched in December whilst £200+ in credit. I did eventually, 5 months and a lot of hassle later, get my money back but 4 months after my switch they attempted to take nearly £400 by DD from my bank account. I know this because both the attempt and the reversed payment showed in my online EE account and it still does:"21/04/15 Unpaid Direct Debit £366.68 ". I'm so glad I had cancelled the DD.

    Edit (added info):
9 months after I switched my online EE account is still active and showing new transactions - a bill that I've never had and is unrecorded was cancelled in June (3 weeks after I received my final and accurate settlement amount) and 2 "Payout" transactions recorded in early September which I have not received (the amounts = the 'Goodwill' payments I've already received as part of the settlement).

According to them I now owe them. So what next? A letter from a debt collection agency?

They seem to be getting worse than ever.
  • OK, thanks guys, I cancelled it just now.

A question for "Malc" the Extra Energy Rep on this forum.

What is the daily standing charge and unit price for the Bright Fixed Price 2016 v2 tarriff (East Midlands area).

Impossible to find it anywhere on the website.

    Thanks.

Malcs's the EON Rep not the Extra Energy Rep - there hasn't been an Extra Energy rep on here for a long time. Make no wonder really.

Get a quote from the Cheap Energy Club or other comparison website and look at the tariff details - if the tariff hasn't been withdrawn or superceded by a V3 version the prices will be shown there.

If you're even considering Extra Energy as a potential supplier I would suggest a visit to your doctor is urgently required. :D

    Cheeky !!!!!!.;)

You know I really love Extra Energy (the only one on here that does) and that is because I managed to get on the "payment on bill" method from the very start which allowed me to be in control.

I'll stick with them as long as their tariff is competitive and I stay on my existing payment method.
