If the switch takes place on the correct date my use will leave my account 7p in credit. I can assure you that the meter read will reflect the date and balance on my account so the credit will not be enough to worry about. ;)
  • Avoid them like the plaugue lack of bills, customer service is awful, cant get threw on phone, dont reply to complaints, even resolver couldnt help, ended up in loadsa credit with them due to lack of upto date readings, presurising you for higher payments even though i knew i was in credit, and still waiting for my money back grrr. Couldnt wait to switch suppiers, sick of complaining at them.:mad::mad::mad:
  • Just submitted my final EE meter readings to transfer to Ovo. If my calculations are correct, I should owe EE something under £5. Will be interesting to see how long they take to issue my final bill. Then I'll feel I've really escaped from this dreadful company at last! :j
  • I can't believe that in this day and age of technology that such an incompetent company exists. We went with them in January 2015 and I still haven't had a bill despite phoning numerous times and updating my meter reading every few months. To compound this we have had solar panels installed and I can't apply for the FiT payments because we don't have a supply number. We need a new meter fitted and EE have been in touch about fitting that but still can't give me what are basic details. My advice would be to avoid this company at all costs. It may seem like a good deal but the amount of time spent trying to contact them and the stress endured is certainly not worth the savings they allege you'll make. Looks like I'm going to have to contact the Ombudsmen.

Yet again I have to mention this useless company. A month back they doubled my DD because they misread the elec meter. I spoke to my bank and they reversed the DD and I also cancelled the DD in case EE had some ideas about taking any more money. Next thing is you get an email saying phone this number to sort out your DD. This was all early Aug 2015 (yes you need the year just in case...), and I told them the problem, they recalculated the bill and the DD was down to a third of the last extract. Oh yes, try phoning that number and wait on hold for 20+ minutes...gave up and this is their bill paying line! Will keep trying but usually the sales lines are fully staffed and the complaints line is in a shed at the end of the garden.

Fast forward to today...what do I get but the exact same message. I told them at the time to reset the DD and we agreed the amount. I seems that each time you contact this cowboy outfit they get something wrong.

Another example of the magic of the market with privatisation eh...

Just had my snotty "you've cancelled your DD" e-mail threatening the wrath of EE will descend upon me if I don't get back to them within 10 working days - guess what - in 10 working days I will no longer be their customer and they will actually owe me money (in the grand engineered almost to perfection sum of 7p ) :o

I rang them at 6pm I did not get throw until 6.45pm if it was not a free phone number I would have been a bit more mad then I already was after waiting 45mins.

A polite lady answered the phone with sorry for the long wait we are very busy etc etc blar blar, after I explained the situation i also told her I was £180 in credit, I ask if there’s any way to tell me if I’m going to be in credit or debit as regards my last meter reading or when my final bill is due as im leaving your sorry sad company,

she said I will transfer you to the billing department, after being on hold for another 30mins a polite man say hello you have come throw to EE customer services how can I help you !!?!?!?, I said I wanted the billing department he said the billing department closes at 5pm every day . . . . . , need I say anymore, if your thinking of joining EE please DONT

O if you do email them u will get a nice auto reply but that's about it hahaha, EE will take your money and run, after all the above I have worked out I should be in £30 credit or debit . . . . if it credit I will turn up the heater if it debit I will still turn up the heater, I'm in a switching mood

Anybody had to have a meter moved with EE? I'm wondering if this is going to met with the same incompetence as the rest of the charade.

Sorry, can't help you herbalus, but I wanted to record the fact that this is our switch date from EE. Final readings given to EE and first readings (same obviously) given to Green Star, which up to the point where I started my switch had mostly positive feedback. Now a few negatives creeping in, is it me? :o

Edit: my calculations say £56.26 in credit but I use 4-decimal calorific value calculator and have not changed the calculator from that on my first bill (of two).

You should use a 1 decimal place CV with no rounding. The CV will probably be higher for a summer bill than a winter bill as the gas is generally drier so more energy for the same volume. The daily figures can be downloaded and averaged here http://marketinformation.natgrid.co.uk/gas/DataItemExplorer.aspx
