Why so many beards?

I quite like beards. Before he started being the currency fairy, I had a thing for Sebastien Chabal. After he came to prominence, I think a lot of rugby blokes started growing beards too.
And of course, any WWE fans at the moment will know the significance of the beard.
DH looks really good with a short beard, which he can grow in a week, but he does insist on shaving it off on Monday mornings.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
When I think of beards, I think of Brian Blessed, and my old primary school teacher who was a Morris dancer!0

I never thought I liked beards, but OH has had a full beard all the time I've known him and I can't imagine letting him ever get rid of it, it'd be weird. He keeps it trimmed so it isn't disgusting or tramp-like and I don't find it scratchy or uncomfortable like I'd have thought it would be.
I must go and tell him he's fashionable, he'll be horrified!

I really don't like the look of them, and REALLY don't like the feel of them. I think it's the Mumford & Sons effect. Paired with a bit of Can'tBeArsed-ness.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

I'm going to have nightmares about Jim Carrey and Bruce Willis now...v:eek:Person_one wrote: »0 -
I used to grow a beard in the winter when I was much younger (in the 80's) and stopped when it started to show the grey.
Now that it is pretty much all grey to match my hair I grew it again in autumn 2012 and have kept it ever since.
I keep it trimmed quite short. I've never had a problem with it itching but it does get a good shampoo every day.
Suffice to say that the person whose opinion matters (other than me) really likes it.
I like not having to bother with shaving. It just gets the clippers over it when I cut my hair.0 -
I always think of ice hockey when I see groups of bearded men - it's considered bad luck to shave during the playoffs apparently

My ex has a full beard and shaved head, but he quite likes the look and his little niece apparently calls him "upside-down uncle" which he loves
Even with the bald head he looks weirdly young without it despite him being 30!
OH just has whatever he fancies at shaving time, though he's always very clean-shaven when he uses his shavette razor

My bloke grew one simply because we had a new baby and couldn't get dressed, shave, clean etc. He got so many compliments on it (from myself included) it's stayed even though we've mastered the art of being parents (well as mastered as you can be as a parent!)0
