Why so many beards?

I was told that the latest fashion is for handlebar moustaches. And the guy who told me had a straight face as well.0

maybe some 'celeb' has a beard and people are copying?0

My father in law used to sport a beard. When he started losing his hair people kept joking that it looked like he had his head on upside down, so the beard was consigned to history.0

I think beards that are well cared for can make a man look distinguished. It all depends on his facial structure, colour of his hair and style in general. Lots of the guys I work with have beards. Some suit them, others don't at all.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

The OH gets very sore razor rash. so just now has a beard. He suits without... however...
I am fine with it because when clean shaven you can see how sore it is.
OuchPlease note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
And why not? Many women like beards on men.
My daughter cried when her boyfriend shaved his off! I think he was a bit offended actually. It now appears at holiday times when he is not in wrk as apparently he was advised when starting that it was a no no since people don't trust men with beards? What?!!!
He is very dark and can have a good beard going in a short time.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
I quite like a beard (on a man!) but it does depend on the bloke. As Marisco said, some suit, some don't. I'm not really keen on the big bushy ones though.

Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid....0 -

I don't understand why so many men are growing them.
My husband works from home too, so during the week he usually doesn't shave until the Friday night or Saturday morning, before he goes round to his Mam's! He went round once with a weeks worth of stubble and she told him to 'get a shave, you look like a tramp!' :rotfl: it wasn't that he wanted a beard, he just cba to shave everyday.
He once grew a moustache for movember, I hated it but it was for a good cause so I didn't say anything.0 -
My DH grew one for the winter to keep his face warm as he spends time outside with his job - but he has just shaved it off following the change in the weather. Personally I hate it.0

Loads of handsome famous men have been growing beards, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, David Beckham.
I like a beard, and to be honest if I was a man I'd definitely have one. There's no way I'd be faffing around with shaving my face constantly anymore than I bother with all the hair removal rubbish women are supposed to do.0
