Why so many beards?

Is it just me or is there an enormous amount of men suddenly growing their first beards. My DH included.
They seem to be everywhere. I started wondering if there is some Internet craze going on
I really dislike beards I grew up with my father having a beard he eventually shaved it off when I was in my late teens. There was always some dripped food in it and then the constant stoking of it.
My DH has always been against beards so fascinated over the mass growing of facial hair that is everywhere at the moment
DH does not have a reason for growing his.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Military types apparently have taken to wearing beards during recent conflicts in the middle east (so they blend in can evade capture etc...). Now non military types are doing it too tolook like hard military types when in fact they are accountants from slough etc.
Thats my wifes theory anyway0 -
I hadn't noticed. I wonder if some people got inspired by the last Movember?"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Men are lazy so it's an excuse not to shave."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

I think my man always looks a bit better with a bit of facial hair. He doesn't grow a big bushy thing though. He keeps it nice and trimmed so it's not used as a food catcher lol*Loosing weight since September 2012 - 85lbs (6st) lost so far*

My OH has also grown a beard recently. He's taking it very seriously and has even bought special conditioner for it, that I'm not allowed to touch. We've negotiated a length that I still don't like, but doesn't entirely scratch my face off and keeps him happy.0

Beards are often very aging.
Not a big fan myself."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
DH generally shaves once a week if he's working from home. He went 4-5 weeks without recently and grew a huge (i thought) beard! Everybody else said it suited him - I hated it. 3 weeks of me refusing to go near him and he shaved it off!
I don't understand why so many men are growing them.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
