Why so many beards?

I think beards that are well cared for can make a man look distinguished. It all depends on his facial structure, colour of his hair and style in general. Lots of the guys I work with have beards. Some suit them, others don't at all.
I agree. I think many beards 'look' nice, but they feel gross. When my DH has one (he does occasionally,) I won't kiss him and won't let him near me with it. It feels vile.
Men under 35 look weird with a full beard IMO. It suits many men, if it's not a full beard. like Leo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, in fact Bloom looks odd without one IMO.

But as I said, it feels horrid. IMO.
Re, the OP, yes there ARE an awful lot of men with beards these days, and I think it is down to it being a 'trend.' Have to agree with the person(s) who say that the goatees (like on the men above) look nice on most men, but full beards... nah.0 -

There probably are still some women who don't remove their body- or leg-hair. Your post reminded me of Jeanette Winterson's memoir, when she said it had never occurred to her to shave anything until she turned up at Oxford looking like a werewolf :rotfl:
I quite like clean-shaven men myself. If you've got a handsome face, why cover it with hair. Not only that, beard rash can be a bit embarrassing

I've tried a beard once. It came off after somebody commented that I looked like a U-Boat captain.

I was told that the latest fashion is for handlebar moustaches. And the guy who told me had a straight face as well.
It's true. A walk through Spitalfields in London on any day of the week will prove it. It's hipster city."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Never heard of that! That's something new that I've learned today!

It may look cute on some men, but thank god my OH hasn't twigged on to that trend, his stubble is bad enough leaving ME with 'razor burns'!!0

I just assumed it was mainly the faff of shaving as well as the expense of new blades. I don't like beards at all."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
