It may look cute on some men, but thank god my OH hasn't twigged on to that trend, his stubble is bad enough leaving ME with 'razor burns'!!

OH had one years ago, not now they're a fashion statement. Stubble is uncomfortable. An actual beard can be quite soft ;).

I'm loving the trend! My OH is always saying "I should really have a shave" and I'm like nooooo.

My husband has had a beard for many years so isn't following any trend. He still needs to shave though to keep it tidy and also trims it regularly.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Thanks all. The problem is it looks more like this! (not a pic of my DH found on internet under 1970s beards!)

I've had a short goatee for years, probably decades. It takes me longer to shave every morning with the beard than without as I have to shave round it and keep it in shape.

I don't have it for any other reason than I like it. Mine is like the one Mr Jolie is wearing up the thread a way.

I'm fortunate that I don't get razor burn or spots or any sort of rash. I can shave in cold water too if required and still not suffer.

As well as shaving every day I also have to trim it with the clippers every couple of days or it starts to get long and bushy, so definitely not a lazy option.

Not sure about the comment regarding military types, it could be true, the going native and blending in part but the problem with a beard is that you can't get a seal with a gas mask, not that there are any gas attacks in that particular conflict. Also why you don't see many fire fighters with a full beard.

It seems to be all David Beckham and Ben Affleck's fault

If only more of them looked like Hugh Jackman, I am sure the trend would grow on me :o
