Why so many beards?

I can't see how men could go to the effort of shaving their faces every day, I know I couldn't keep up with that.
Also, shaving always brings up spots on my OH. It also makes him look about 18.
Maybe beards have caught on because of the wonderful band The Beards? There is hope for us yet0 -
I've grown mine after the girlfriend was complaining endlessly about hating the proliferation of beards. I'll get rid of it when she gets a proper job.
That said after the first horrendously itchy few weeks (best dealt with by washing with fairly liquid every morning it seems) not shaving is very pleasant, and had I not promised to shave it off when she gets a proper job I would be very tempted to keep it.0 -
Its the latest fad - everyone I know keeps on posting those memes on FB about manly beards. I personally I like a goatee style on my OH, not a full beard, but what he does is he he shaves on fridays for my benefit and lets it grow during his working week til the next friday. I have to check the goatee for symmetry...!!:p''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0

I used to hate beards but the more I see them around the more I like them. Ds (16) has a full beard and his gf loves it.0

My DH grew one for the winter to keep his face warm as he spends time outside with his job - but he has just shaved it off following the change in the weather. Personally I hate it.
You should get him one of these! https://www.beardhead.co.uk

My DH grew a full beard and I wasn't terribly keen. Then he changed it for a long goatee which I loved (with his very long hair), but when he shaved it all off and had a short back'n'sides, he did look 10 years younger. I kind of miss the ZZ Top look though

Don't know why people want to grow a beard anyway - itch like hell when growing and look a mess- plus i can't grow one
Think it's another fad, we'll be getting neon socks and shell suits back at this rate0 -
Yes I have noticed the beards increasing.
One of my sons has a shaved head and a long pointy beard!
Hope the next craze isn't perms for men like in the late 1970's.?Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

My OH has had a beard for as long as I've known him and I love it. He initially grew it out when he quit working as a Bouncer because he was fed up with shaving every day for work.
I've seen pictures of him from before he grew it and he looks ridiculously young without the facial hair.
He often threatens to shave it off but I think he'd get fed up with having to shave all the time so it would soon make a reappearance.0 -
anyone else think this thread was about something else? The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50
