Is there anything special I need to do to open a second account? Opened the first without any problem and have transferred a test £1 in there, but after the second application I got a message saying
    There's a problem...
72005 : According to our records, you have already applied for a current account with us recently. Unfortunately, we're not able to consider another application at the moment.

Apologies if this has been asked/answered, i've read most of the thread but with 43 pages hard to know if i've missed it...

Guys after a one pound test payment of £1 from Santander to my TSB account...the £3999 has not reached there yet. How long does it take normally? Getting slightly worried here...

    Thank you for reading this...

From Halifax to TSB about 20 seconds!

Yeah transfers between Lloyds, Halifax and TSB happen instantly as if they were internal transfers, presumably because they use the same internet banking system.

Happened to me as well. Successfully went through the following day.

3 weeks since I opened the TSB Classic Plus account, and I've still not received my online banking details. I phoned up Wednesday last week and they said they would send them out again, but still nada.

I had my debit card and pin in the post after a week, but this is so far pretty poor service and doesn't instill me with confidence.

Clearly there's no point putting money in to the account as I won't get the 5% until I opt in for paperless banking, which I can't do until I have online banking.

May be drop that nice Mr Nigel Gilbert from TSB a quick email to ask whether this is what he had in mind when he was talking about the simple, straight forward products and services TSB provide? I would (though I have personally no complaints about TSB).

Should be able to work out his email addy by a bit of trial and error.

OH and I went into branch to switch to this account. Everything happened really quickly - 10 days over bank holiday - cards and pins received, on-line banking working and showing all DDs and payees transferred, and cheque book received (we asked for one at time of opening account). No problems so far, so just hope that all DD payments go through smoothly.

Have you changed your statement setting to "paperless" yet?

Do you need to activate it online first?

I registered on the website for it and all info came through in a few days including the activation code for online banking. Wonder if that only gets sent out once you register for it on the website as there aren't any details to send as you do it all online? The only thing they post is the activation code but you need to have setup first.

Just received pin today so I'm now all set.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Did you apply online, in branch, or by phone?

I applied online on the launch day (albeit via an 'unofficial' link on here) and was invited to register for online banking during the application itself. I could also opt for paperless statements during the application process.

Obviously I couldn't make a withdrawal until I'd 'activated' online banking with the activation code they posted to me.
