I have one classic plus account but was declined for a second one and offered a cash account instead-should I take it and try and upgrade on the basis that I already have one or is it not worth doing at all?Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Did you open your first one before 13 October? http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/banking/2014/10/planning-on-getting-a-tsb-current-account-do-it-now-if-you-want-to-open-four
If so, open the other one then upgrade it. If not, you won't get one, regardless.
Based on your signature, you might be better prioritising your debts over gaining interest from savings anyway, unless your debt is very cheap.0 -

Fair play, shows that details like that should not be taken as gospel in MSE articles! They definely sent me a letter saying it wouldn't be allowed after the end of January, so if you're going to try and repeat the above, be quick!0

We've had more letters today from TSB warning us that we need to register for paperless statements/correspondence/internet banking and pay in £500 - we already do all of this but their records show that we don't according to the letter - anybody else having a problem with this? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

I have received the same letter, again checked and like you I have ticked all the correct boxes. Next step would be to contact bank.0

We had all selected them at the time of openning the accounts. I think I'll unregister for it all one day and re-register the next. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Trying to sort out mother's accounts and having the same problem!
It's the same for us, all boxes ticked, money paid in etc.
Can only assume it's their mistake???“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Just been on to try deactivating and notice that on my table of preferences whilst they are all selected correctly it says:
These preferences are not yet activated. To activate them, please tick the Terms and Conditions checkbox and enter your password at the bottom of this page.
So I've now done that. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
