Ended up switching one of my mum's existing Enhance accounts to a Plus account and opening a new Plus account also. The Plus accounts are full and she has enough left over to get the 3% in her Enhance account, for however long they continue to offer that interest rate. :)

I've read multiple times that an internal transfer can be used but also found this MSN Money page which says

There's definitely some confusion on this. Has anyone scanned the T&Cs for definitive answer (assuming they'd cover this point)?

I was going to confirm this in branch when meeting them to get a problem sorted but before I could do so the personal banking manager actually offered to set up the internal transfer between two of my Plus accounts.

If I turn off paper statements to qualify for interest on this account, will paper statements also be turned off for any other accounts already open for which I am currently receiving paper statements?

Have you got one of these accounts?
    I have two.
If not, that may explain in part why you are confused, but sadly causes more confusion as to why you are so interested in the first place.
    Don't follow, sorry.
If you do have an account, are you saying you did not read the terms and conditions that you would have had to confirm you did read before being allowed to apply?
I skim read the T&Cs. I didn't go into details. I learnt most about the account from this site and what I read in the T&Cs matched up with what I already knew. I don't recall seeing anything about if the transfer can be internal.
Either way, can you not read the terms now if you are still confused?
Could do. I can also ask here cant I? Isn't that the point of this thread to discuss this account? I also know there's people on here more familiar with T&C jargon who will know the answer. Maybe you could make a list of aspects of this account that we can and cannot discuss here then I won't make the same silly mistake again :)
Best to go to the horse's mouth and find out for yourself if you need to know ;)
    Point taken.

Why would you not want to read/comprehend the official T&Cs and instead rely on the opinions of a random website or forum?

    How odd.

If you apply for internet banking, you should need an activation code to acccess certain functions, but access to the account itself is via the details you supply online.

    Did you apply online?

Edit: Here you said you received your activation code and could now access your internet account

Yes I applied online. My application seemed a bit different to most others. I have no idea why or how but it all worked ok in the end.

I was simply hoping to piggyback off others' scrutinising of the T&Cs. It's also apparent that the internal question has arisen multiple times on this thread so wanted to nail it definitively and cited the MSN Money article as evidence of where confusion can arise from. What do you mean by random? I know this site isn't TSB, but it's certainly not random. This thread is about the very account I'm seeking clarification on.

When accounts such as these are launched we really ought to develop a FAQ to serve those who want to "piggy-back" off those who CAN be bothered to read the account T&Cs, because many of the questions raised in this 820+ post thread are the same ones.

But in order to "nail it definitively" you really ought to read the TSB T&Cs...not MSE or MSN.

And for future reference, no lender is going to say in the account T&Cs "it's fine to just dump £4K in 2 of our new accounts, create a couple of cross-firing SOs, sit back, do nothing, and rip us off to the tune of nearly £200 a year". So when you're reading T&Cs it's just as important to check what's NOT written as it is to check what IS written. And with the TSB T&Cs (like BoS and also Lloyds), they make no mention of external funding only (like Nationwide, Santander, and YB/CB do).

A bit nervous as have opened TSB classic plus accounts on line for husband and I(2 each) we have received an e-mail/debit cards with account numbers/sort codes, haven't received activation code, Wondering is it safe to go a ahead and deposit money in accounts via online banking.........Had to pick a TSB in England as none here where we live, therefore this account would not be available to go get money out of a local TSB bank, daughter lives local to one we put down(that was the reason we chose it), we visit her often, just worried about losing my money before bank account activation rec'd and able to see my money online. Can't see there will be a problem but.... nervous, want to get £2000 into each account to start making some interest. :(

    All sorted :)
Not be able to set up a joint account as no tsb's locally but v happy with 4 singles between us.
    :)
thanks for all the wonderful help.
