Still waiting for Santander to transfer the money...

Oh dear, Santander could take all day or even 24 hours to do it. They have stupid fraud controls which seem to involve some people actually analysing your payment requests..

The other day, I had a good moan at Santander Select over what seems to be overzealous checking by Santander but I didn't get the impression they even understood the issue. They gave me an earful as to why it is good for me and that other banks are not anywhere near as safe as Santander blah blah. Which is hilarious.

I transferred to my TSBs and my Club Lloyds from Nationwide today. Had to use the card reader each time (did the £1 transfers first to confirm correct data, and then sent the rest) but money arrived the other end instantly.

Anyone seen an option on screen for registering for gross interest otherwise a branch visit will be needed?

"Unfortunately we couldn't complete your transaction. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Please try again later. If you continue to experience problems, please call us .....

BTW, I have a similar message in my new Club Lloyds, after depositing my £5K..

Seems their systems can't update statements on new accounts for a while.

This thread's been busy today, and in all the talk I can't remember if anyone's posted that the 'official' application link (and associated documentation) is now available on their website...

You can just download a standard R85 form from HMRC website, print it off, complete and post to TSB, if easier for you than than calling into a branch:

Seems you can do it in Branch, or simply post the R85 to them.
If you are a UK resident non tax payer you can register your account(s) to receive credit interest paid gross in branch or by completing an HMRC R85 form. If you are completing the R85 form you will need to complete one form for each account you hold. You can download the R85 form at https://www.hmrc.gov.uk.

Very pleased with this, and many thanks to bsms1147's link. Transfers (did a £1 test into each account from Nationwide) were instant. I like the way that the online system works (it has memorable info, unlike some of my accounts), and I like the fact that there is a TSB branch in my town.
    Thanks, all.
  • Don't need a link anymore as its officially on their website.

I opened a new Plus account - So I know have three Enhanced accounts and a brand new Plus account.

    Very easy to open ..

When I select the option to 'upgrade' an enhanced account, I can go through eth steps for the upgrade from Enhanced to Plus..

Am I right in saying you're allowed *2 Plus accounts....? and 1 Lloyds Club Account?
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

Thanks for the link and thanks to bsms1147 for the original link. I actually had a look at TSB's site not too long ago and it was still showing the Plus account as coming soon. Must have looked at it just before they changed it.

Decided to bite the bullet and apply for them now. Could've waited a few months but opening current accounts is too addictive. Got my 2 and up and running instantly online.

That now makes 2xTSB Plus, 1x TSB Enhance, 1xBOS Vantage, 3x Lloyds Vantage and a credit card in the last few weeks. Better cool it now for a bit although it is tempting to see if I could get the new Lloyds as well.
