I wonder if there is more to the story the OP hasnt told us. Your sister is also at fault, an iphone 5s (or whatever model it was) what was she thinking.0

I got a few details.
they work on a tick box system.
No ID was supplied at the shop at all so yes someone could go in they and work out with a phone.so how to proceed?
I'm not trying to be harsh but as I guess you were not there I too suspect there's something you are not being told.
A mobile phone is a £200 plus device, phone shops don't give them out without at least checking bank details and address usually on two different forms of ID, one for the bank account and one for the address. Online different as they use your delivery address to validate the order.
As long as they asked the age, got the required ID and your sister agreed to the contract then that's all the tick boxes they need to fill out, the fact its a tick box exercise is irrelevant. Even if all they did was a debit card check to confirm the account was valid it doesn't change the fact your sister chose to commit fraud.
While you need to be 18 to take out any contract where a debt may be incurred, as long as P4U asked your sister is she was 18 they are legally covered, there is no requirement on the companies part to check the customer telling the truth about their age.
Could it be your sister is not telling the whole truth over what went on, as well as getting the phone by lying?0 -
Did you read the thread?
Not sure if that's sarcasmI meant she lied about her age in store, did she also lie to her sister about what else went on in store.
I can't believe any store would give a contract phone out without any form of ID being presented, especially to a younger customer. Where there other documents used, lets say if the sisters had the same initials, did the younger sister use the older sisters documents as her own.0 -
My understanding is that the phone was ordered online and collected in a store. If so, all checks were done online and in the store she just shown her card used for ordering.0
