phones4u selling contracts to minors. (and Orange)

hares how the story starts my sister decides she wants a iPhone 5s.
So she went online and only phones 4 u would accept her debit card then she got a contract with orange via phones4u and was able to pick the phone up with no id whats so ever.
so my grandad contacted phones4u then they said they investigate then they said that an person who works at phones4u is being investigated then said it was an orange then stopped responding to all types of contact.
And orange won't take responsibility and then they stopped responding.

I can not give too much information due to this being an ongoing case and will lickly have to be taken on the legal path.

my opinion on this(This is not legally binding):
I think they just want to £37 per month and do not care what laws they brake.(this is opinion only).

Did she enter her correct age in the application?

Does she not want the contract now? If so, when did she advise them of this and return the phone - I assume she has done this?

she ented a fake age. but paid with a debit card so the age could of been found with an api call to the card compney.
she does want the contract but it's illegal so me and my grandad are trying to end it.

before orange stopped responding they said they wanted my grandad to pay for the handset witch is illegal as he's not part of the contract.

How old is your sister? Sounds like she is the problem. Can she afford to pay for the contract?

    16 years old.
she can pay for it but it's illegal and teaches her to break the law.

She has attempted to gain credit/ goods by deception. If you have such an issue with this, why not contact the police? It comes across that you are trying to place all the blame on Phones4u, but they're not the ones who intentionally deceived.

If that is possible (which I seriously doubt) it is not reliable. I have obtained debit cards for my children and could have entered any d.o.b. I liked.

There's no cross check with the dob from the info entered to get the acc open and the one the bank holds (due to dpa).

Get the phone and lock it away. Either p4u or Orange are going to want it back at some point (or it'll be theft as well).
I'd think someone from the Orange fraud team will be in contact after they've run an investigation on this.
