I really admire women who doesn't care about age as long as they feel the beauty and the young heart in themselves. Salute!

Above made me laugh and it occurred to me that a big smile cost nothing but radiates everything.

    Thanks for starting the thread.

I can totally understand where you are coming from.

I am 44 in a couple of months time. The problem is in my head I am still 30 something. Its only when I look in the mirror and see an old woman that reality bites.

So ok my gold hot pants would not really suit me any more but I am not ready for velour and nylon beige kaftan 's.

I would love to be Glam! Secretly have always wanted to be but have just never quiet managed it.

One thing I did do a couple of months ago was get hair extensions.

OMG my before kids long, thick hair is back. Not as expensive as I thought they would be and I do feel younger. Not sure that the combat pants, fleece and walking boots complete the look but I feel a bit better. ha ha
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

I would love to get extensions, my hair only grows to a certain length and then drops out, I can never get it below shoulder length despite every effort over many years. I know I would look and feel more glamorous with long hair and I do think it would suit me too.

What sort of costs are we looking at roughly?

With this lovely warm weather this weekend it has dawned on me that I have very little to wear that looks any good.

My challenge for this week...... WITHOUT FAIL.... is to sort through my wardrobe and plan new purchases. Please feel free to kick me if I do not report that I have done this!!!

    I have taken vits
    Done exercises
Put makeup emergency kit in car
    Manicured again
    Buffed and moisturized all over
    Eaten like a pig :o
Got a date with a new guy :D
Panicked because I have nothing to wear

I will keep updating with my progress :):):)

Well after chatting to an old flame whilst parked up outside my children s school I glanced in the mirror. There I was, with a shiny forehead and nose, eyeliner smudged, and hair not looking its best.

Sorry but this made me laugh, its exactly what I would be like :rotfl:

Well I have been forced to make myself not glamorous but certainly smarter. I start a job next week so have been trying on all my work suits (none of them fit I've put on too much weight ). Tomorrow I will have to go out and buy some smart work clothes. I am hoping having to look fairly decent during the week will give me the kick I need to make an effort at the weekends as well.

lushplus4 well done on your date :T

So to be more organised and not let this ever happen again I am putting a few things in place.

I am going to keep a small emergency makeup bag in car with powder, eyeliner, lip gloss, mini hairspray, brush and hand cream, nail file and perfume sample.

This looking good is hard work, have I missed anything ? :):):)

Don't lose sight of yourself. What did your old flame look like? I mean really look like, he may have walked away thinking oh no I look tired, old, blah blah and she looked glowing and carefree :D

You don't need to glam yourself up to the point that you are unapproachable or high maintenance or worse meet a new fella and then never be able to let him see you tired, grumpy, hungover or just shiny, smudgy, bed hair, bare faced :rotfl:

You can buy good hair extensions and learn how to put them in rather than pay a fortune at a salon. Have to say though as shallow as it sounds it really does make me feel better when my hair, nails and skin look good. But head up, making eye contact and smiling works wonders.
