OMG, one thing I did do the other day was turn my mirror round to the magnifying side. Mother nature has protected me from seeing what I actually look like by giving me failing eyesite.
But science has invented magnifying mirrors, and I found a white hair in my eyebrow !!!!:eek::eek:0 -
Magnifying mirrors are the work of the devil!!!
Does anyone know anything about hair colours and skin tone? I dyed my hair a dark purple at the weekend and hate it! After thinking about it, I have decided it is because it is too cool for my skin tone. I am very pale, but have a yellow undertone to my skin, which I believe makes me warm toned. Does anyone know what sort of colours I should be looking for to suit my skin tone? I usually like something quite bold.No more goo hoarding!

glam·our also glam·or (glăm′ər) n.
1. An air of compelling charm, romance, and excitement, especially when delusively alluring.
2. Archaic A magic spell; enchantment.
Love this thread. I would consider myself to be fairly well groomed and reading through the suggestions I tick many of the boxes ie. regular good hair cut, always use exfoliating products and moisturiser, manicure, pedicure, always wear perfume, at least face base, blusher, lippy and mascara is a must. Sadie the bra lady fitted my bra, however my capsule wardrobe just looks like I'm wearing the same clothes on a different day.
I have never been glamorous and cant think of anyone who wouldn't laugh at the suggestion. I think glamour is a bit like charm it's either there or it isn't. I have an acquaintance who looks glamorous in her pj's or evening wear, she always looks fresh, her clothes are always well chosen and well pressed, even the pj's. Hair, face, extremities all polished, she makes it look so effortless and you always feel like you need a good scrub when next to her :rotfl:
I also work with two women who I would consider glamorous one of them is very overweight, immaculately groomed and always smiling and I think her personal integrity also helps the image. The other steals the room when she walks in, she too is always immaculate and even though she's a bit of a dubious character it doesn't deter from her image.
All three of them never have chipped nail varnish, a ladder in their tights, their lippy stays on, their hair looks tousled, not windswept, they look sleepy not tired.... I will keep reading with interest ....The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -
Dont know what you look like but how about this
I have been thinking about red actually...No more goo hoarding!

Well after chatting to an old flame whilst parked up outside my children s school I glanced in the mirror. There I was, with a shiny forehead and nose, eyeliner smudged, and hair not looking its best. I was kicking myself when he walked away.
So to be more organised and not let this ever happen again I am putting a few things in place.
I am going to keep a small emergency makeup bag in car with powder, eyeliner, lip gloss, mini hairspray, brush and hand cream, nail file and perfume sample.
I have replaced the light bulbs in hall way so I can actually see myself in the mirror before I leave.
Moved my makeup mirror to a lighter place and using magnifying side.
Put my cleansing wipes and moisturizer next to my bed so i never have an excuse not to use.
I am also keeping my nail kit next to my chair in living room so I can manicure whilst watching TV.
This looking good is hard work, have I missed anything ?:):)

Another good website for style inspiration is:
http://www.notdressedaslamb.com
This is a lady in her 40s who wears some really nice and fashionable clothing. I really like a lot of her outfits; even though I am the wrong shape to wear them the website gives me good ideas.
spider.
P.S. For those of you (like me) who have slow, rural broadband speeds just a warning that this site is photo heavy and can be quite slow to view0 -

Hi sorry you misunderstood meI meant the Not Dressed As Lamb site is slow, not any or your posts.
Broadband speeds out in the sticks is usually very slow. I laugh when people talk about downloading a film to watch. We can't even view a 3 minute YouTube clip it is so slow.0
