No amount of damping down, smoother, hairspray, mouse etc is getting it flat. I'm at screaming pitch.
I've got to go to the bank and talk to one of the managers there shortly and wanted to look nicely pulled together. At this rate I'm going to have to go in a wimple to hide the horror.

Hope your bank trip went well, we all have days like that.0 -
good morning,
I would just like to say how much I am enjoying this thread....you all sound like you could be me lol.....
I turn 50 last year and decided there was absolutely no way I was going to let my go and get frumpy!!
I am so there with you all you guys..monthly eyebrow threads at superdrug brow bar, regular hair dying..unsure of my natural hair colour now lol.., invested in a glass nail file...this is excellent, new epilator is now best friend....from under arm hair to chinny ones!!!, have discovered serum for my crazy frizzy hair, magic knickers hide everything!!......and the usual moisturising exfoliating..., trying out a CC cream from 99p store....quite good.
this thread is such an incentive....
keep up the good work and forever remain glamorous!!!

Well in the end I had to rely on personality rather than appearance, but I got the result I wanted at the bank
From now on no hair washing at night! I've found if I wash it first thing, add a smoother/defrizzer/styler, clip it back low at my neck while still wet and leave it for a few hours I can take it down and have nice smooth hair from the crown to the ears, instead of the usual frightwig, and it stays relatively smooth and easy to style even after sleeping on it. I think I'm always running my hands through my hair, which makes it terribly frizzy, so I'm practicing keeping my hands off it.
Still carrying on with the personal care regime. Did a pedicure last night and used my ancient foot spa (doesn't actually work anymore but I kept it to use instead of a bowl). It was lovely.
Started using Sally Hansen's Hard as Wraps and a oil on my cuticles as well, which I used to do a couple of years ago but stopped for no particular reason. The nails on my hands were lovely and strong then and now have disintegrated again.
I still have to dye my hair as well - I've been testing some dark brown henna cream for the last few months to blend in about 15% greys and condition it better. Semi- permanent dye only though, not the permanent ones, as one day I want to be able to embrace the grey completely and not have to grow it out.
Oh and I started Jillian Michael's 30 day shred so I'm hoping one day I can get the lid of the jam jar myself0 -
Wow what a lovely morning my 11 year old daughter applied a face pack with cucumber on my eyes. I then had a very bubbly bath and my hair and makeup done very well for me. What a clever girl ! I am feeling very pampered.
I hope everyone who's a Mummy is feeling special today. For those who no longer have their mum ((((((Hugs)))))) I'm thinking of you x0 -
magic knickers hide everything!!...
I'm with you there, wonderful invention.
Glad it went well cottage economy x0 -

Sorry to hijack the thread here,
Can I ask which henna cream you use and were do you get it from please.
I've got some on order ATM but really need to be able to get it easier if it works well on my hair.Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

I'm trying Suyra Brasil cream at the moment and get it either on ebay or amazon depending on the overall cost with postage. It's not particularly cheap at about £12, but I use it every 6-8 weeks if I'm careful about which shampoo I use and leave 2-3 days between washing. I have used normal henna, mixing up the compressed blocks with various different additions like strong expresso etc, but no matter what I did sooner or later after several washings I was left with a copper tinge on the older parts of my hair which I didn't like. I wanted a nice dark brown all over that I could touch up the roots regularly and fully colour every now and then, and that would be that.
I've been growing out my normal colour without permanents for about a year now (you cannot use normal hair dye once you have hennaed so I have no choice), but still have about four inches of this coppery tone at the ends which I don't like so this week I am chopping it off and won't be using permanent henna again. Gulp!0 -

We have no children, only cats and they didn't seem interested in doing anything for me this morning
However, I have had two stonking hair and beauty days. Figured out a side parting looks much better on me and it has been behaving nicely. Started mixing a little foundation with my face cream and wearing that every day, which has been making me feel much better than going without or wearing full foundation. I have been playing with eyeliner to create a Sophia Loren type cat eye, although not as big and black as hers, and now have found a look that suits me.0 -
thanks for the tip of leaving face wipes next to the bed, finally removing make up before falling asleep!
my tip to you gardeners- scrape your nails along a bar of soap so it goes under them a little. stops dirt getting down them
(or wear gloves?)
keep a bottle of vitE capsules in your bag. any spare minutes, pop one and rub the oil into your cuticles. also good for a quick de-frizz of hair.
definitely follow the advice of polish/treat shoes and bags.

Thanks for replying. I've ordered the Suyra one from Amazon, just waiting for it to arrive. Chemical dyes don't agree with my scalp so I'm hoping this will be a good alternative for me. Just got to get a good cut first
Years ago I had to get about 6 inches chopped off my hair to get rid of a very gone wrong and very permanent blondeit scared me so much I've never used another permanent colour since lol
Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0
