How to become glamorous?

I saw the title of this thread and just had to reply as I ask myself this every day! Trust me it's not an age thing as I'm younger than you (and know others far younger and older who feel likewise). I think some people were just made to be more glamorous than others. It takes a LOT of upkeep to be perfectly groomed and polished all the time, not to mention money. I do love having my nails done and now and then I will treat myself to Gellish or Bio Nails as these last at least 3 weeks - perfect nails without the constant hassle of chips, having to re-apply etc. Other than that I accept the fact that I'm more of a wild hair, bare faced, muddy wellies type haha!
The one thing that does really make me feel more glamorous and I can just about cope with is tinted eyebrows. It is so wonderful to walk out of the house or go to the gym etc and feel like you've just about enough on your face to not need makeup. Eyebrows make a massive difference to how you look, so if there's one small thing you could do it's that!0 -
I know what you mean that it's not an age thing, I have always longed to be really glamorous.
I do think that nowadays there are more things available to help, such as extensions, nails hair straighteners etc...So there is more hope for the ordinary woman like me to feel fabulous.
All the little things I'm doing are certainly lifting my confidence, even if nobody notices I do and that's important.:)0 -
Today I had a good look in a big sunglasses shop, I tried on loads of styles and had some great help from the assistant. I have found a pair I love that I think suit me very well, but then I looked at the tag... £199.00 :eek::eek: Of course I have chosen one of the more expensive ones (Prada) but I do feel these are a key item that will last for years that are kind of glam.
So after noting down the model number etc I have been looking online and have managed to get the cost down to £119 which is a big saving. Not sure if anyone on here can recommend a way of getting them cheaper?
I also went to a salon suppliers and had some advice on hair extensions, I chickened out at the last minute, if only the assistant showed a bit more enthusiasmbut may go back and buy them next week.

Extensions are a massive hassle! How 'high maintenance' are you now? If not very then I wouldn't recommend them as they take lots of looking after. How about a really good cut that will allow you to leave it loose while it grows out and longer?0

For 2014 I've gone short boy hair. Yesterday I freaked my mother by standing it up (thanx L'Oreal Elnett) and she was calling me Jedward just to annoy me (it was nowhere near that tall).
Even with mousse and hairspray, my hair is done shampoo to dry enough to go out in 15 mins. Makeup takes longer now !0 -
Today I picked up a lint roller thing in Primark for £1.50 which made me think. I haven't got loads of clothes, but what I do can be..
1. Spotlessly clean.
2. Freshly pressed and ironed, I find that spray starch is good.
3. All the odd threads and those ribbon things in the shoulders snipped off.
4. Buttons sewn on as necessary.
5. shoes kept polished.
6. Handbag kept tidy and coordinated with outfit.
7. Handbag polished with shoe polish would revive a scruffy bag.
8 Jumpers de-bobbled ( I use a cheap razor as I don't have one of those gadgets)
9 No dog or cat hairs.
Is there anything else I have missed:):)

I have heard this from someone else, so I think I will take your advice on this and make the best of what I have. My hair just doesn't grow long, just shoulder length.0 -

Just one little thing, don't use coloured polish on handbags and belts, use uncoloured shoe cream, the colour may come off onto your clothes and spoil something that you love.:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
So annoyed with myself. I went to bed last night with my hair a bit damp and this morning?
:eek::eek::eek:
No amount of damping down, smoother, hairspray, mouse etc is getting it flat. I'm at screaming pitch.
I've got to go to the bank and talk to one of the managers there shortly and wanted to look nicely pulled together. At this rate I'm going to have to go in a wimple to hide the horror.0
