I don't know if this idea has been mentioned, but a friend recently made me a corned beef hash pie.
It was corned beef, potato & onion made into a plate pie with a pastry bottom and lid, so it could be sliced.
Lovely with peas and gravy and some red cabbage :drool:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

I made this last night
I cube up potatoes and pan fry them slowly until a nice colour, then tip into an oven dish and put in oven so they cook through. Then cube up corned beef to simliar size, pan fry that too, then add that to the dish in the oven and leave it for a bit until it looks done. Serve with baked beansi'd do onions too but have a fussy DH
(but my mum used to do the whole mash it all up with corned beef which was nice too and probably less hassle)

Yes, the joy of corned beef hash recipes is that they're very adaptable and as long as you've got corned beef and potatoes, anything else is an optional extra. I personally fry lots of onions first and then mix them in with mashed potatoes and mashed corned beef and fry until crispy on both sides. A useful tasty storecupboard meal, and not expensive either.0

i use diced saute potatoes, or parmentier (as we call them in the trade!) mixed with some herbs as a topping, and mix cubes of corned beef with fried onions, garlic, baked beans and thyme for the filling, beautiful cheap, quick and easy meal!!£5000 debt cleared thanks to MSE advice :money:0

I always have beans, I find it a bit dry served on it's own!

Gotta chop an onion up and mix it in there.
Also, definitely beat an egg into it all before you bake/fry it.
Don't forget the grated cheese on top right at the end when you pop it under the grill to brown it offYou'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0
