I have decided to have corned beef hash tomorrow so looking for a recipe and found that I could eat it for a month and all the recipes would be different!
I have decided to soak 4 oz haricot beans, 2 tablespoons pearl barley and a spoon of dried soup mix overnight. Tomorrow I will fry onion, carrots and celery and add to slow cooker with cooked beans and cook, then towards the end add corned beef so it doesnt go mushy. I may add peas and serve with spuds. I'll let you know how it works out.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

I have got to resurrect this thread.
1 tin of baked beans
4/5 medium sized potatoes
1 tin of corned beef
1 large onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 dessertspoon of worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
Grated cheese
Peel the potatoes and put to boil in a large saucepan of water (the biggest saucepan you have), while that is on the go peel and chop into rough chunks the onion and then finely chop the garlic. In another saucepan put the cubed corned beef and baked beans add in the worcestershire sauce and a small amount of grated black pepper and salt.
When the potatoes are half cooked start simmering the corned beef and beans. Nearly at the end - fry off the garlic and onion. Mash the potatoes and then add the garlic and onion and mix that well into the pan. (This is why you need a nice big pan!) then add half the baked bean and corned beef mix and then integrate that into the potato mix then add the remainder. Put the whole mixture into a baking dish and then add grated cheese on top put in the oven for about 30 minutes or until really nicely golden and crispy on top.
We usually have this with a couple of fried eggs but it's your choice.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

North American version.
Frozen hashbrown potatoes (I prefer cubed)
Tin of corned beef, chopped up.
Chopped Onion
Diced green pepper
Sautee onion and green pepper. Add a dollop of oil to fry pan. Stir in frozen hashbrowns (usually half a kilo bag). Sprinkle seasoning salt over this. W
When the potatoes are browning up toss in the corned beef. Sprinkle with pepper and cook through.
Serve with fried or poached eggs. Runny are best.0 -
