That's great your placenta has moved new! Must be a relief0
-
Sounds like good news all round
Glad the placenta has moved New, that must be a relief to know. Interesting that they gave you a predicted birth weight - we just got an estimated current weight (it was est just over 4lb at 32 weeks).
We've had a really busy weekend, and baby has been in general relatively quiet until I go to bed! We had our NHS 1 day antenatal course on Saturday, which was quite useful, as it was run by one of the birth centre midwives in the hospital we're going to. A lot of the information was repeats of what we've learned elsewhere, but the opportunity to ask hsopital specific questions was very useful.
It was our first wedding anniversary yesterday, and we managed to celebrate by doing entirely too much gardening - I had jelly legs as a result last night, and still feeling pretty achy this morning  Husband was quite annoyed that I hadn't stopped earlier, and thinks I should be putting myself first and not the garden...I keep trying to explain that once everything is planted, I'll be able to sit down and relax. The piles of plants awaiting planting never seems to get any smaller though. Poor soul, he doesn't know what to do with me :rotfl:
Very glad it's my last week at work this week - have just started being up in the night for the first time. Not fun. Happily still no sign of heartburn, and walking is slower, but not too bad. I thought breathlessness was supposed to get better when baby is engaged, but no sign of that here yet...0 -
I'm not sure if it's applicable to anyone else (I know firebird is due only 2 days behind me), but OH and I have just sent our applications off for a postal vote.
We applied for this vote only - just in case we're otherwise occupied!
If you're due just before the vote, you might not feel like hauling up to the polling station with a newborn.
Any applications need to be received by the electoral registration officer before 23rd of this month.

I have a feeling that this little sod is still lying across my belly and nowhere near engaged. God knows what he's been up to, but it actually felt like he was pulling my belly from the inside earlier!
Ok girls, I need some opinions. Please tell me if I'm being out of order, because I really can't see that I am :undecided
OH's father sadly passed away 12 days ago. He and his brother helped to clear stuff out of the house and he suggested a bootsale. His brother had never done one, but seemed cool with the idea. I thought he was joking about me going too... until today.
After a little conversation, it appears his brother isn't actually keen and he doesn't expect him to go, but does me. When I said I wasn't happy about it (I mean, a field in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by hundreds of cars; I don't even know if there are portaloos. And even if there are, they'll be disgusting and the queues probably mobbed), he said don't get in a strop ( I was NOT stroppy, just said that it wasn't a good idea and what if my waters broke? I know that's unlikely at that stage, but DD was born at 36+3).
I'll be 35+6 on the day.
I feel terribly for him; he was distraught at the fact his dad won't get to see the baby and has had a difficult few weeks. I hate seeing him hurt and upset and have been trying to keep things as normal as possible all this time. I'm also lucky in that, yes I have had some symptoms, but I've been relatively fine through this pregnancy. My main issues have been tiredness and back/hip pain. But I'm not sure being stuck in the aforementioned field is the best place for me to be at that stage :undecided
And, actually, the way that he told me not to have a strop and just expects me to be ok with going has left me really quite angry about it0 -
sweetbabu, sorry to hear of your father in law's passing. I think you should stand your ground on the sale. No one should expect women at 35+ weeks of pregnancy to commit to something like that.
As for me, the last two days I've had spells of tiredness at work. It's super frustrating; I've generally had so much energy recently so it's really irritating! There was work to be done but I found myself struggling to concentrate and watching the clock. It's the first time I have found myself looking forward to maternity leave. Everything's pretty much done and ready at home so I'm going to schedule in lots of rest and relaxation! 3 weeks to go!
Our driveway and garden work is coming along well. The horrid asbestos garage is gone; replaced with a wooden shed. They've now started on the driveway and the front garden has been replaced with concrete ready for the new surface later this week. It's going to be so much safer and convenient having more off road parking, for us and any guests! The back garden is also nearly enclosed which means we'll be able to have my parents' dog over, which will make it easier for my mum to visit for longer spells as she won't have to worry about getting back for the dog. Also in the future an enclosed garden is obviously safer for toddlers!

Sweetbabu - so sorry to hear about your Father in Law. Im with snowscreamer on the boot sale, I don't think I could get out of bed at silly o clock anyway at the morning.
Been suffering terrible insomnia - not dropping off to sleep until about 2am and then dead to the world when its time to get up
Penguingirl - any signs yet?0 -

Sweetbabu- sorry to hear about your FIL. Definitely with you on the car boot, could he postpone it until after baby is here?
Snowscreamer- sounds like you need to rest up a bit, it's frustrating though isn't it? Sounds like the work on your house is progressing well.
Lifestarts- hope the insomnia improves.
Firebird- thanks for doing the list. Good think of the postal vote, although we're due early enough we should be OK. Enjoy your last week at work.
No news here- but am at the midwife this afternoon so we'll see if head has started to engage, but I don'tthink it has as I'm still carrying really high. Our NCT group currently has 3 overdue babies and we've been told that queue jumping is not allowed! Also my parents are on holiday until Sunday so I'm crossing my legs, but by the beginning of next week I'll be more impatient! I looked round a nursery this morning and really liked it, but have another to look at tomorrow.0 -
penguingirl, the frustrating thing is im not sure there is much scope for resting more than already
I'm doing very little in the evenings (except when I have Pilates on a Monday but I cope reasonably well with that and always feel so much less tense afterwards). So my sum total of activity is my commute (car, train, down lots of stairs, tube, up lots of stairs, 8 min walk) and a very short walk at lunchtime. Can't really carry on with work and do less!! My boss has said I can take additional time off if I like but as I'm paid on a very high day rate for this contract I am super reluctant!! Want to continue building up my cash stash for maternity...
My other theory was haemoglobin levels. They tender to run low end of normal pre-pregnancy (~125) and were 117 at booking and 108 at 28w. Dietary iron requirements are about 50% higher in pregnancy due to increased blood volume. Midwife said she was happy with 108 but it really is pretty low and I'm just wondering if it's carried on dropping since 28 weeks and is now really quite low? Anyway yesterday I took an iron supplement (got some hanging around from OH haemorrhage last year) so I think I'll continue with that and see how it goes...Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB!
