I'm definitely feeling more pressure across bump today, especially if I lean forwards. Also harder on the right rather than the left so bean's clearly settled on one side for a bit
Trying to get sorted for our week away as I'm off out to the rowing club quiz tonight. Husband has bought an on roof bike rack and I just picked it up. Box was open so I have to read the instructions and check all the bits are there- if they are I'd best put the roof bars on the new car. I think I can....0 -

Last 2 weeks I have not made it through the night once, plus I'm needing to go more often during the day. The general pelvic pressure even when I've just emptied my bladder is worsening too... I really hope it's not a long wait once I start maternity leave!
I sometimes have to go every hour at night! And rarely manage more than 2. Doesn't help that I'm super thirsty and have a really dry mouth in the night. I've tried to reduce my fluid intake, but I was gasping. I actually think I will have longer sleep cycles when this baby is born!
Went into work today to drop off laptop, it feels like I've been off forever! Was good to catch up with people though. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, the sunshine is gorgeous here (I'm sat in the garden at the mo). We need to do a trip to the tip, a couple of jobs in the house but nothing major and maybe we'll do another National Trust outing (we're members and have about 7 within 30 min's drive). We also keep saying we'll go and look at sofas, but I doubt we will if it's nice weather as it seems a waste.0 -

Another one here up multiple times per night, usually 5 or 6, and Im trying not to drink much in the evenings but like penguin girl I'm super thirsty and have to have a little sip each time I wake up. Probably doesn't help that midwife has written on my notes from Wednesday 'Engagement: 4/5'
My plan for today involves going out for tea with in-laws later on, but since DD is with Grandparents today and OH is at a leaving do this afternoon, think I will be mostly snoozing on the sofa!
Have a good weekend everyone!0 -
Well weve had a rotten few weeks, so hopefully it will start to pick up a bit here now.
Last time I was at the midwife - I think it was a week and a half ago, but I can't quite rememberMy little monkey was still 'free' - so no engagement whatsoever here! Got the next appointment on Wednesday, so we'll see.
However, I'm still sleeping mostly through the night - or at least able to get back to sleep without getting up. I did read that some babies don't engage until labour though! I wouldn't be surprised if, being a boy, he were late! Feel like I need the toilet during the day, but most days can go for ages without feeling the urge.
Belly has been keeping me entertained by moving all different shapes. It's really quite freaky :rotfl:0 -
Sweetbabu- I'm also at midwife on Wednesday so hoping he's starting to engage! Although goodness knows how many toilet trips I'd need then.
My parents have just been round and taken us out for lunch which was nice. They are going on holiday on Monday morning for a week- booked about a year ago as part of a group with friends, suddenly my mum looks very anxious we're going to have him while they are away! So fingers crossed he waits until the week after.0 -
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.
Glad that those who have had midwife appts have went well.
New hope the scan went well.
It's annoying that they don't all use the same system for when baby's engaged. I got so confused when I googled it as it could mean two different things.
Penguin, hope your one hangs on until your parents return.
I noticed I've been waking up through the night with heartburn, taken to keeping a pack of Rennies next to my bed to save a trip. OH's best friend had their baby earlier, a little girl. So chuffed for them, and it sounded like quite an easy going birth. Got a bit teary for them, but also for myself (selfish I know) as I really want him to make an appearance now. I don't think it helps with me now being on maternity, and I have no idea what I will do over the next 4 weeks till his official due date. I can't wait to go and meet baby, and get some cuddlesAlso got a bump strap from the physio, what a difference. Seeing her again at about 38 weeks, hopefully I won't need to.

April- I'm sure you will fill your maternity leave days, I am really enjoying mine and have relaxed so much. With you on the heartburn- I have some of the pack in every room and my handbag. Definitely increased how much I've been using them the last couple of weeks.
We managed a little trip to the peak district today to enjoy the sunshine. Baby has been incredibly fidgety all day! It's funny how much my bump moves about and he feels really strong now. In full washing machine mode at the moment.0 -
Scan went well, placenta has moved. Was lovely to see baba again even if j could barely make anything out on the screen. Baby is predicted to be 8.7+ but we will see as I know it isn't massively accurate.
Enjoyed the hen weekend, feel quite relaxed and little bubba enjoyed itself bouncing along in my belly, nice to be back home though.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
New, I was talking to my hairdresser yesterday and was telling her about the extra growth scans and scare that the baby was going to be a little hulk. She said her easiest to birth baby had been her biggest (and she's not the first to say so). Apparently, it's due to the fact that the bigger babies don't squeeze themselves back up between contractions.
Sorry to hear you've got heartburn, April and Penguin. I've been really, really lucky this pregnancy and it's not been so bad, but with my daughter, it was sheer hell so you have my sympathy
I completed my last flight before the baby comes and all went well... until I got home and discovered my feet had swollen up and the left one was really tender
We will hopefully be getting the cot up this week and I will be properly packing my hospital bags (rather than just shoving stuff in to keep it all together). It's getting real now!
I can't wait to start hearing about our own little baby boom! :j0 -
That's good, New! They didn't tell me predicted growth at my scan. But at my midwife appointment on Friday she said she didn't think I'd make it to my due date and baby would be 8.5-9.5lb
Sweet, I'd never heard that about bigger babies - but I'll hope the midwife is wrong and then keep fingers crossed it's true.
OH and I had a really nice weekend away for our wedding anniversary and we took all the baby stuff 'just in case'. It wasn't super organised so I'm glad we didn't need it! This week be packing the hospital bag properly and printing out my birth preferences so I feel ready.
I'm definitely getting less mobile, but I've finally got my physio appt on Friday when I'll be 37 weeks! April, I ended up buying a bump strap online and it feels so good for short walks. Enjoy your maternity leave! I'm sure it will fly by - my first week was a blur of appointments, small chores, deliveries etc so I'm looking forward to a relaxed weekLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380
