Definitely filling up maternity with at least one activity a day. All of baby's clothes are now washed and drying
one less thing to worry about.
Glad to hear the scan went well New.
Poodle it definitely helps. Quite comfortable and helped when I've been out walking.
Hopefully your week passes quickly Fire.
I sent off for a postal vote, completely forgot to mention it.
Sweet sorry for your loss, but I think they are expecting too much of you. I definitely wouldn't be standing around at a carboot sale at 35 weeks. If you're experiencing back/hip pain it would not be the best plan to be standing about all day. My physio told me to try not stand too much or sit too much.
Penguin here's hoping there is good news at your appointment today and baby has started to engage. My bump has definitely lowered. I was speaking to my mum today and she said she went about now with me. She's always been early, the latest is about 2 weeks early.0 -
Feeling very up in the air after midwife- she thinks he might be breech, although the heartbeat is low down, but whatever is at the top of my bump is feeling quite head like
also we are definitely a bit back to back. So now I'm waiting for the hospital to call me back (she left an answerphone message) to book a position scan for tomorrow. Am desperately hoping he isn't breech as I really don't want a c-section, but what will be will be. So until tomorrow I am keeping my legs and fingers crossed. And my white cell count was raised a bit, so I'm also looking out for any uti symptoms. Grrr.

Sorry to hear about the possible breech penguin. Hope you get your scan tomorrow. I had my midwife appointment today and apparently 1/5 engaged, feeling lots of hiccups in the cervix area. She has booked me another appointment for due date and said she can give me a sweep then if I want.
I had a bit of brown discharge and cramping with my braxton hicks on monday but nothing since, except a general increase in amount of discharge.
Sorry to hear of your FIL loss sweetbabu, and try and give your BIL a gentle reminder that being heavily pregnant you should be more putting your feet up than getting up early and working a boot sale.
Snowscreamer I can sympathise with the tiredness, I am still at work - last day on Friday - my commute is a 20 min drive to station and hour on tube with one change and stairs/escalators. I have been waddling along very slowly this week and in pain.
Someone recommended to me some Solar branded iron supplements but if you have some already may aswell use them up.
I would like a few days of maternity leave to rest/wash all of baby clothes/nest but wouldn't mind if baby did pop out early, its all getting rather uncomfortable now!0 -
Scan is end of the day tomorrow. Have another nursery viewing and a lot of food to batch cook so plan to keep occupied tomorrow. I have a sweep booked just in case for 40+4 as she said they are more effective the later after due date (but how they don't know that is spontaneous labour I don't know...). A couple of the nct girls have had them and said they were OK, and midwife reckons a smear is worse.
Glad your midwife went well Vanilla. Enjoy your last week- I really have found things so much better on maternity leave and my colleagues all commented when I saw them how much more rested and relaxed I looked.0 -
That's really frustrating about the baby possibly flipping head up penguingirl. Best of luck with the scan later. If you do have to have a planned C section, well that's better than an emergency C section and will give you some certainty on dates!
vanilla8 I am a little jealous of your finishing work tomorrow! However you'll be 38 weeks-ish? That's pretty impressive! I'll be 37 weeks on my last day and it can't come soon enough! Currently planning one tray of batch cooking, one gentle swim or Pilates per day and lots of relaxation for maternity leave.
After my spells of tiredness on Monday and Tuesday I impulse-booked a maternity massage for tonight. Luckily I was full of energy all yesterday so it may have just been a blip (or the iron tablets are working!) but nevertheless I think today will go faster looking forward to the massage this evening
Had a bath last night and my bump was going nuts. So much fun; think I could spend hours watching! At one stage what I have been assuming is the bottom was sticking out near my belly button and then a little foot on my side; like baby was doing a hamstring stretch! I swear I could feel the heels and the toes on the foot but you never really know if you're just making it all up...Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! All the babies seem to love a bath!
Snow, really good idea to book a massage - enjoy! I totally understand why you want to stay at work, are you able to work from home at all? Your commute is fairly active! But glad you had more energy yesterday, the iron definitely can't help.
Penguingirl, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you later. I had my health visitor home visit last week (after midwife said baby was possibly breech) and I found it really reassuring that she was so confident that 'babies know best' and if they're not in the right position, there's a reason for it. But really hope babyPenguin is just being stubborn and gets head down asap!
Hope you're managing ok, Sweet. Really agree with the other girls - obviously you're supporting your OH through this tough time, but you need to put yourself first and that does not involve car booting xx

No working from home in this role - might have been different if it was a permanent job but I'm freelance and signed for a 3-month in-office contract. The most I can do is take days off (and not be able to bill for those days!) so I'll just have to ride it out! Another 13 working days after today! As long as the tiredness manages to stay away I'll be fine. Commute isn't actually that bad really if I'm with it. Today is fine so far; touch wood! Can't wait for the massage, regardless!Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.

Thanks ladies. Definitely telling myself that planned c is better than emergency c, and there's no guarantee if we go down that route that I would have had the birth I wanted. I guess we'll find out this afternoon. I think that if he is breech I will be offered a c in the next few days as I am 38+5 now, and he is measuring big so chances of turning are pretty minimal. We're feeling a bit frustrated as we don't think he's changed position, and a different midwife dithered at my 34 week appointment that he might be breech, so wish I'd pushed a bit more then for a scan to check. Oh well, we shall see. Just keep reminding myself that SIL didn't know nephew was breech until she was 7cm in labour and waters had broken, and that was much more traumatic. And she went on to have a great labour for second baby.
Keeping myself busy at the moment. Looked round another nursery this morning, it was OK, and quite different to yesterday's. More corporate (it's part of a large chain), and a bit more school-like, whereas yesterday's was smaller and a bit more laid back. So I don't know which is better. They also vary in opening hours and prices. I've got a beef stew in the slow cooker, I'm going to make some pizzas for the freezer this afternoon and a curry (half for tonight, half for freeser), so at least we will have a freezer full as I've done a few other meals this week.
Snow- glad you're feeling better, enjoy your massage! Sounds like a great idea. Your maternity leave plans sound good, I have really enjoyed the time to relax but also get jobs done. Could still happily wait a couple of weeks if I needed to!0 -
Penguin I hope your scan goes ok. Remember you can always ask them to try turning baby before deciding whether a c section is the right path for you. Just take your time and don't feel pressured into doing anything. As for nurseries go with your gut instinct. I hate how the fees differ so greatly between nurseries, you would think there would be a more standardised price.
Snow enjoy your massage, they are fab! Totally worth it from my point of view.
Hopefully everyone else is going great0
